  1. Fuse is #35 Switches on and off with the ignition
  2. Get a flashlight (preferrably one you can hold in your mouth), an adjustable wrench and (possibly)some wire strippers Tap the fuse on #35. (You can get an official 'fuse tap' from Radio Shack for less than $5, or just stripped the wire, pull the fuse, wrapped wire around one side of the fuse and put the fuse back in.. ) Now run the other wire (Neg) to somewhere on the frame. ..I found a bolt that I loosened and jammed the wire behind and re-tightened. Now run wire up door seal to A pillar trim (the hard plastic piece that is between your door and windshield). tuck behind A pillar trim up to the headliner. tuck wire up behind headliner and run to detector. Takes about 5-10minutes.
  3. I recently bought a 2008 Edge Limited AWD. I must say there is some stuff that confuses me. Lets start with the BAMR. . . . Really?!! First the fact that it takes forever to close. Once I hear my phone ring I have to quickly HOLD the button and half the time it goes to voicemail before I can answer it. Unless I answer it first and yell "HOLD ON. . . CLOSING SUNROOF!!" That's beside the fact that you have to sit there holding the stupid button to close it all the way. EVERY OTHER SUNROOF I"VE OWNED HAD ONE TOUCH CLOSE!! I don't understand why they thought this was some sort of danger when the other car companies seem to be fine with it. Nobody has figured out how to get around this 'safety' feature? I used to be on an AUDI forum and found that those people could get around or bypass anything they felt kept them from fully enjoying their car. Maybe I haven't searched deep enough...maybe you need more engineers/car nerds? Also I spent 10 minutes searching your posts to hardwire my radar detector. 90% of the posts say you can't hardwire it to turn off when you turn off the ignition, (a switchable power source) then I finally found a single comment saying use fuse #35. (thanks to whomever that was..now I can't find the same post to thank you>>>) So now Im tapped into #35 with the cord tucked up the door seal and across the headliner. Turn on the car, detector powers up. Turn car off, Detector turns off. (stereo will stay on until doors open, but detector turns off when ignition is off) Even if you bring up the post titled HARDWIRE RADAR DETECTOR, it says nothing about this. I'm going to go through the posts and throw in my 2 cents on fuse #35. . . But the point is I had to search through ALOT of misinformation. I hope the moderators can clean these things up. Sorry to introduce myself with guns blazing, but when I had my AUDI the forum was incredibly helpful and I used it as a resource and a place hang and have fun. So, sorry for the bitchin and thanks for any info/help in advance Thanks Dave
