  1. Polarized sunglasses eliminate the glare or the reflection of the dash in the windshield.
  2. It is sticky as hell and won't come off with out some serious persuasion but you can get it off cleanly.
  3. That's it. The cool thing is I removed the mount from my dash when I sold my truck and it didn't leave any residue behind. And it kind of stretches like the 3M command strips, though not quite the same. So removing the old tape from the mount was pretty easy.
  4. Sorry the following isn't going to be of much help but should give you hope! I found this double sided tape I believe at oreilly that wasn't foam based. It looked like it was rubber based and the backing that you peel off is red. I used it to stick my car dock to the dash of my truck for over a year and never came loose. The car dock I have came with a round plastic disk that the suction cup mounted to. The disk was flat on the top of the dash so it was never holding any weight. I tried to mount it under the ac controls, again this was in my truck with no center console, and it came loose because of the heat and weight I imagine.
  5. You should also tint the front windows and the top of the windshield.
  6. Here are a couple good, high res pics of them on a mustaing. http://forums.themustangsource.com/f691/steeda-spyder-wheel-question-483798/#post5881678 Maybe someone can photoshop them onto an Edge?
  7. Those do look really good. I would like to see an actual pic of them installed on a black Edge.
  8. Here is my 2 cents. Maybe the engineer stated the oil pan holds 5.5 quarts but didn't think to include that the oil filter holds about half a quart. So that's what was printed in the manual and since no one questioned the engineer the fact that the oil filter holds about half a quart was not considered. Hum... I just purchased my edge about 3 weeks ago and haven't done an oil change yet, but I will pay close attention to it.
  9. You have to press the brake pedal and press the remote start button 3 times with the key in the on position.
  10. I meant how hard is it to take it off the car. That sounds like the hardest part.
  11. How hard is it to remove the headlight?
  12. Couldn't you open the stock headlight up and plasti dip the inside? At the same time remove the reflector.
  13. What are your plans for them? I was wondering how hard it would be to remove the reflector from the head lights. *edit, I didn't go to page 2, now I see.
  14. Can you take a wider pic? I don't think it looks that bad.
  15. I just discovered this stuff today. I'm going to do the front grill and rear emblem and possibly the chrome trim on my 2008 black limited. This stuff looks really cool because if you don't like it you just peal it off. You can even paint over it or clear coat it for a shiny finish and still peal it off. Not sure when I'll get around to doing it though, I'll take pics of before and after. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yepjODal1D0 If you look on youtube you can find all kinds of vids on it.
  16. One step was missing from that link. You have to press the brake peddle and press the button 3 times with the key in the on position. Remote start works great.
  17. I think I found the answer. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/3310-remote-start-troubles/ I'm going to try this.
  18. I just purchased an 08 Limited and it has a Lincoln key fob with one button. It appears to lock the doors and cause the horn to beep once or about 4 or 5 times really fast. Not sure what it is and I didn't purchase it at a ford dealer so they didn't know either.
  19. I ended up purchasing it. Final sale price after trade in and ttl 16,300, plus 1 new tire because one had a cut in the sidewall. I negotiated the new tire after the final price was negotiated. I got a 2.5% interest rate.
  20. Hello everyone, first post. I'm looking at used edges and this one looks almost too good to be true. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=300835889&dealer_id=595943&car_year=2008&systime=&doors=&model=EDGE&search_lang=en&start_year=1981&body_style=SUV&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&search_type=used&distance=25&min_price=&rdm=1310258295992&drive=&marketZipError=false&advanced=y&fuel=&keywords_display=&sownerid=581894&lastBeginningStartYear=1981&end_year=2012&showZipError=n&make2=&certified=&engine=&dma=HOUSTON_SW&feature7=leather+seats&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&body_code=16&transmission=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&color=BLACK&address=77079&sort_type=priceDESC&max_price=20000&color2=&make=FORD&seller_type=b&num_records=100&cardist=9&standard=false What should I look out for besides the basics? Thanks
