Downloading songs to 2011 Edge Limited

My friends have a 2010 Edge Limited and they have downloaded many of their CDs to their car. I purchased a 2011 Edge Limited and cannot find a way to download songs to the car. Is it possible to do or can you only play songs trough an external USB source? -

Pulled the Nav card and reinserted it. Everthing loaded up and the black box was gone. Thanks for all the help. CCTraveler -

Purchased 2011 Edge Limited two weeks ago. Today started it up and there is a black square in the middle of the Ford Touch screen. It appears on all screens. ( Navigation, Sirius, Climate, and Phone) It is solid and blocks everything behind it. Any ideas on what it is or how to get rid of it?
