Just traded in my '08 black edge limited and picked up my new '11 edge sport, Kona Blue, Nav, vision & entry package and the panoramic roof. Let me say this, I was questionable about the blue but when I saw it in person, WoW! I absolutely love it. Hoping to get the windows tinted this weekend. Will post pics as soon as its finished.

If you read my post it explains my 08 Edge with the same problem. I'd love to get a bunch of Edge owners together here in NJ and sign a petition to take to the BBB.

Ok everyone, here is my update. I took my car in on Monday (1/19) and told him about the burning smell and this forum and how it seems like everyone is having this problem. He was aware of the problem and told me it was a very busy December but that he only had a couple in January thus far. He also made me aware that the part was on back order. My dealer did put me into a dealer car (Edge SEL 2WD NO CHARGE)) and let me tell you. The 2 wheel drive is crap. It snowed like an inch and I couldn't go anywhere and the handling was horrible. Anyways, sorry for the rant but I just picked up my Edge Limited AWD this morning and I couldn't have been more happier to get my baby back. Lets just hope they fixed the problem however I have my doubts. This is what the paperwork has to say; A C/S THAT THERE IS A LEAK IN THE FRONT. CAUSE: 11502 VERIFY CUSTOMER CONCERN CHECK THE VEHICLE FOR LEAK FOUND LEAKING OUT OF THE PTU AXLE SEAL ALSO FOUND TSB 08-12-3 PERFORM .REPLACE D INFO 422 W 1 8T4Z*7275*B KIT 2 XT*5*QM FLUID - TRANSMISSION 11502 VERIFY CUSTOMER CONCERN CHECK THE VEHICLE FOR LEAK FOUND LEAKING OUT OF THE PTU AXLE SEAL ALSO FOUND TSB 08-12-3 PERFORM .REPLACE THE AXLE SEAL AND TOP THE FLUID. ROAD AFTER REPAIR AND RECHECK FOR LEAKS VERIFY OK I will update after driving a week in warmer then colder weather and let you know what happens. (Keeping fingers crossed)

2008 Ford Edge Limited owner here. Well you can add me to the list. I live five minutes from work and at the light by my house I started smelling that infamous burning smell. I pulled into my driveway, got out of the car and sure enough, it was smoking. I called ford today and they couldn't get me in until next Monday but they were aware of the problem. I will let everyone know how things go.

Well hello Edge Owners, I just turned in my Explorer and came home with an Edge. I was gonna jump into another explorer, had it picked out and went to go pick it up however the dealer made me test drive the new edge. I have to admit. I loved it. IMO, there was actually more leg room in the edge than the explorer front & back. And I can still fit 4 golf bags in the trunk. I ended up getting the Limited AWD Fully loaded minus the DVD entertainment. I have no complaints whatsoever.
