Does anyone know how many watts the turn signals bulbs are on the 2012 edge front and rear

I had a local autosports place take apart the headlight and measure it all out and order white halos and leds for my 11 edge sport, I'm wondering how its going to turn out. there going to paint the inside of the headlight black to match the grille. i might also get a hid kit maybe a 5000k. just wondering if anyone else has done any of this or is interested in seeing pictures. so far i have tail lights tints and tinted driver and passenger windows. more to come soon

Thanks to you all. I knew that the dealer, Verizon and SYNC had to be wrong or not up to date. I asked the guy at the dealer if "the phone doesn't exist at this time that will do text messaging" then why does Ford have a video on it's website that shows it being done? His reply, "well that's just for future use"?

 

Does anyone think that the "new update" will have any effect on the phones that are FULLY compatible to SYNC? As I said before, my USB and SD haven't shown up in the mailbox yet, guess I might be at the end of the shipping list. I might wait till I get the update installed (if it ever shows up) and then go to the phone store and have them do a trial run before I buy.

The features for phones have nothing to do with the system if your phone doesn't allow the phone to do it then it wont. All the features of the system are phone dependent meaning your phone has to be able to give the texts to the systems.

The wife and I are qualified for new upgraded cell phones now and I have been asking around to see which one will handle incoming text messaging. I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone. I went to Verizon and they don't know and have no idea. I went to the dealer and they say "the phone that does that hasn't been made yet". I contacted Ford via SyncMyRide.com and they show a list of 50+ phones that are "compatible" and I know that this is not accurate. The Sync email replied that the "DROID X" will do this. Now who do I believe. Ford has videos showing how the system will receive incoming texts and will read them in voice to you and the dealer says it can't be done??? Who's full of you know what?

 

Is there ANYONE out there who can give me a truthful and accurate answer?

 

We haven't received our FMT/Sync/Nav System updates yet...Maybe because my name starts with a "T" and they're sending the updates alphabetically.

 

Can ANYONE help me figure out this phone thing. Will the update make any difference?

Had them done today 20% darkness. The interior picture I changed the map lights to LED bulbs

I got the 9012 kit from retro-solutions I didn't have to trim anything took me about a half hour to install

A friend of mine was using the his Ipod with M.F.T. the screen shows it playing but there is no sound...Also when he tries to play through the Bluetooth streaming every time it says phone disconnected...Has anyone had any problems like this...He is getting the system updated today I hoping this fixes it..Was just curious to see if anyone else had this issue

The SD cards that the dealers are getting are for the new car inventory for there stores I will be posting a video shortly of the new system

not sure if you saw my question on the other page FordGuru, but can you apply the update and still use the old map card?

NO with the new update the old map card does NOT work. We just tested it in our service dept you must have a new SD card for the nav to work

I can't wait for mine to show up. FordGuru, have you had time to play with it much?

I have played with the new system it's much faster the voice is instant everyone will be extremely happy with it

I am employee of a Ford dealership by the end of March to mid April everyone will have the update. The service departments will be getting the updates by the end of the week

I have a 2011 Ford Edge Sport with the Navigation

I was having problems with MFT 2.11 ( Instead of getting the Ford logo at start up I was getting the main menu screen? followed by lock up) and the dealer did a master reset and all my Nav Favourites are now gone.

 

Is there a way I should be backing these up or saving them somehow so I can recover the info after a Master Reset.

With the pending upgrade coming i guess there is no reason to re-enter the info at this time.

You cant back it up when they do a master reset it sets the whole system back to new...Kind of like formatting a computer

Hey everyone, I just picked my Edge up yesterday. Black with black leather interior. Looking forward to the sharing here.

 

I got rid of my Pontiac G8 GT. It was a monster, but the constant problems finally overcame the look and fun of the car. That forum was great, and I think this one will be just as good.

 

Fist up is getting 20's put on soon. The factory wheels look like little toys on it.

Hello all, new to this forum. My wife bought a edge in december of 11, We know that personal pics can be added, but we can not figure out how to do this from a jump drive. We followed the instruction in the books but it is not working. Does anyone know how to do this or something that we might be doing wrong. Thanks for your time.

Setting Wallpaper:

In order to set your wallpaper, you must first load photos

into the system before you can select the one you want,

or just use the Default Photo (Ford or Lincoln logo):

• Press Menu > Display > Edit Wallpaper

• Make sure you have a properly formatted photo on a

USB or SD Card and it’s inserted into the media hub:

– File for mats: .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp

– Maximum file size: 1.5MB

– Maximum number of photos: 32

– Recommended dimensions: 800 x 378 pixels

• Select the file you want when it shows up on the screen,

and then select Add Photo to upload it into the system

(up to 32 photos can be saved)

• To set the wallpaper, press Menu > Display > Edit

Wallpaper, and then select either the Default Photo

or one of your photos from the saved photos list

I have the option of generating either a Z plan or an X plan pin. The person who is doing it for me is a really close family friend, but we are not actually related. According to the rules of the Z plan I can use this one. Does ford actually check this info? Also does anyone know how much of a discount difference you can get with either plan or is it the same discount with both.

Use the Z-Plan as a sales employee of Ford out of all the plans you can't get better pricing the the Z-plan. As a sales employee I cant get as good as a price on a vehicle then the Z-plan

Thanks for the update Exodus!, I'm just curious as to what bugs they have worked out of the new system since they've re-programmed it. It was announced and demoed back in November, so I'm assuming Ford has been doing extensive tests and bug fixes since then. Any insight? I really hope they hit this one out of the park.

There were a few bugs in the system which is why the kept pushing it back. They do not want it released unless all the bugs are out of it. The systems that I played with didn't have any faults it worked flawlessly

As an employee of Ford I was given an opportunity to try the new MFT systems. Let me start off by saying everybody will be VERY pleased. The new systems is unbelievably faster, the voice system is instant, they changed the climate features for the dual zone there is no more swinging, The new navigation system is great with its new updates and 3D mapping. The font is now bigger and easier to read, The new release date they say which could change is now end of March into April. I was very pleased myself with how they changed the system and you will be to. I know they keep changing the dates but believe me it is worth the wait.

Ok, I have searched and found many posts about removing the front bracket, but none about installing. Unfortunately I am in Ohio and have to have a front plate :angry: . And my used 2011 Limited did not come with the bracket and I have to put one on. The dealer gave me a new one, but no directions how, where and what to install it with. Has anyone had to install one or maybe somebody that has removed theirs could help me.

Just bring it to the dealership all they have to do is put the rivets in. If Ohio requires a front plate they should have done it for you at the dealership already. It takes no more then 10 mins.

Hey everybody, my name is Jeremy and I am a new Edge owner. I have been a Ford guy my entire life, actually only owning Mustangs. I traded in my 2006 GT to get a 2012 Ford Edge Limited EcoBoost. Let's say it was a big change to say the least, but finally graduating college and getting a big boy job I needed to get something more winter dependable with these Virginia winters. It's Silver with Black Leather interior, has the MySync touch screen, but not the navigation. I don't have any pictures of it yet, but will get some soon. Just though I'd drop a message and say hey!
