  1. It would be nice if the system would remember the state of my steering wheel warmer and heated/cooled seats, and set them to the same setting next time I start the car, irregardless of whether I do it with the remote or when pushing the button. Setting so that if there is no key in range. all of the doors auto-lock - (seriously, i don't want to fumble in my pocket or coat in the winter for my fob or the lock button when I get out and walk away - that's the whole idea of being keyless). A nicer-looking antenna, and maybe a little servo that will lay it flat when the engine/ACC is turned off. It sticking up like that looks goofy. Another vote for slowly-changing mood lighting - maybe with settings for 3/5/10/15 minute cycles (that should be able to be added to Sync in software)
  2. I know there's been some confusion regarding what you can and can't do to get some kind of a Daytime Running Lights on the Edge/MKX. I took info I learned here and when I had my new MKX (which has the HID system) in to the dealer today (needed to install a couple dealer-added items) and they were able to flip the switch in the computer to enable the DRL feature that sets the headlights to low-voltage mode whenever you are in gear. Didn't get any pushback from the tech on it either, or song-and-dance about it being illegal in America or some lame excuse. I like it because 1) it's safer and 2) it's knocks $10/mo off my insurance. Anyways, just passing on an FYI.
  3. Had my MKX a week, and I have a few 1) Front splash guards 2) Running Boards 3) Something to clean the backup camera lens - snowy winters cover it up 4) A wind-deflector for the rear window - deflect some air down to blow water and dust off the rear window (had this on my old Infiniti QX4 - loved it) 5) One-touch open/close for the moonroof cover 6) DRLs without having to convince someone to hack the system
  4. I dunno, for as much as you'd be spending on the car, and the expectation that gas will likely just go up, the $1k difference isn't that much in the grand scheme of things. If I could have gotten an ecoboost on my (AWD MKX) I would have. Even if I broke even on the better milage vs cost, I'd feel better in terms of "green" feeling, and know I have some protection against higher future gas prices. *shrug* I say that unless the $1k will really break you, just get it and be happy.
  5. Yea, I decided to go with the 18" wheels because they have a little better performance I've found in the snow and slush, and are cheaper to replace (tires tend to wear out fast because of the winter turning the roads to crap). So far I'm loving it. Really my only complaint is related to SYNC idiosyncrasies and the fact that the maps seem out of date (it puts my home address a half-block away, and was missing a 4-lane highway that has been there for about 30 years). Hopefully the software and map upgrade will address a lot of this.
  6. Just got my Candy Red MKX two days ago, so I'm still settling in on my color of choice. But right now it's set to Purple, but I do like both the Blue and Red depending on my mood-of-the-moment. I suspect the "color game" will be a fun ice breaker on dates. That, and the THX Demo Sound (damn I love that chord).
  7. Back in late-November I ordered my new MKX. Apparently my combination of features just didn't exist in channel (I'm guessing adaptive cruise isn't that common), so it was a long 2 months waiting for it. Came in yesterday, and I took possession early this afternoon. 2012 MKX AWD w/ Red Candy Exterior / Black Leather Interior 102A Package Panoramic Vista Roof 18" Wheels Wood Package Adaptive Cruise Towing Package All-weather Floor-mats (Wisconsin slushy winters) Cargo Area mat / rear-bumper guard Sync and Nav and all the other neato wizbang electronics So far so good. Haven't had a chance to really exercise it much (I had a late-afternoon meeting so it was unfortunately dealership->work->home. I'll get more time in it over the next few days and next week I have some work-related road tripping so it'll be nice to do some country-driving. Eagerly awaiting new SYNC software, though. What's there now feels really clunky and "messy". Pic Attached.
  8. I've been trying to score a coupon before I take delivery on my new MKX. Ordered a brochure and everything but no dice.
  9. Long-time forum lurker, first time buyer. I just received the VIN on my new 2012 MKX with a build date of 1/02/12. Pretty excited for it, although waiting is going to be a pain since I suspect I won't see it until the end of January. I ended up with the following: 2012 MKX AWD w/ Red Candy Exterior / Black Leather Interior 102A Package Panoramic Vista Roof 18" Wheels Wood Package Adaptive Cruise Towing Package All-weather Floor-mats (Wisconsin slushy winters) Cargo Area mat / rear-bumper guard Sync and Nav and all the other neato wizbang electronics I'm still negotiating out an extended warranty with the dealer against some internet quotes I've gotten. I tend to keep cars forever with relatively low mileage, and with all the fly-by-wire electronics on this thing, I'm just more comfortable taking it to 7yr/100k. We'll see how it all shakes out.
