  1. I use this feature to manually reduce the speed by lowering the set speed of cruise control to slow the vehicle down before I use the brakes, when possible.

    although,

The active cruise control instructions states that "the brakes are applied to reduce vehicle speed"

  2. How have you liked this protector. Most Zagg covers can be fairly thick, is this one? Does it leave scratch marks? Thanks.

Very happy with the Zagg cover, no glare or fingerprints. Scratches rub out with car polish. I went back to BB and got an additional one for backup.

  3. Google offered me three routes and one is the one we take. I don't have data service on my cell phone so I can't download google or mapsco or whatever.

Google has a feature that after you plot a route to where you, want/way to go.

You then set this info to your cell phone number

Google will call your through MFT and your cell phone number with the instructions.

I have done this one time and the route sent to me was the way i had it set up.

  4. I have a 2011 Edge limited with 55000KMs (34k miles), I brought it in to the dealership today because the wrench light came on, and they told me a wire had corroded because I am missing a shroud (plastic cover) underneath the driver`s side (runs from drivers seat along to back seat) but I can`t find any pictures of said shroud on-line. If anyone can snap a picture of their undercarriage where that shroud starts and ends I would be in your debt. Thank you so much!!!

I had to replace one for my 2011 MKX, was only able to find through the Ford parts department research, at the dealer..

    The part # BT4Z 7811398 A, passenger side.

The price was $67.04, on 09/08/2011.

  5. Its just so frustrating. Why the heck would they make them with plastic and then make it so they couldn't be repaired. It only makes sense that you would be able to pop the old one off and put a new one on. Why use plastic?

Anyway, I called my insurance and they said I could make a claim under my collision and just pay my $200 deductible. Not sure if I want to do it though because my record is clean as I have never made a claim. And whats to say that after I fix it, I make the same stupid mistake.

What REALLY got to me was the salesperson I purchased the vehicle from kinda mocked me saying I should have spent the $500 and got their wheel protection plan. I thought it was only for flats. He just told me that any damage to the wheel is covered and they will replace it. Now I'm super pissed.

Your premiums will not change on a collision claim. After you replace the wheel get the wheel protection plan or you can file another collision claim and still be ahead $100.00

  6. Today I made the wonderful mistake of getting too close to the curb and I slowly scraped my wheel. I have the 2012 MKX with the upgraded 20" wheels. I rubbed up just enough to completely crack the plastic off on the edge. No damage done to the actual wheel itself and the tire could just be cleaned off. I called my dealer to find out what it would cost me to get the plastic chrome replaced as it looks like its something that can just be pulled off and a new one put on. They told me that they dont do that and I would have to pay around $1100 including labor to get an entirely new wheel. Are you kidding me? Is this true? Does anyone have any experience with this? Why would they make a fake chrome plastic cover on these wheels if they cant be replaced? What is the object of it? Please someone tell me the dealer is incorrect. This MKX is only 4 months old and I can't drive it around looking like this. I also dont have $1100 to spend. If these wheels were actual chromed metal then I could just polish it out and hide the damage. Unfortunately its plastic and I can't.

First Im dealing with the MFT issues. Now this :(

When I touch Information tab; or from the SYNC home window, and I touch the sync services, or, sync apps. I get a blank screen.

If I dial the 800-304 6099, I can get all the services except for traffic and directions.

  8. Well, one way or the other, you have moisture inside the car that's condensing and then freezing on the inside of the windshield. Make sure that you have the climate controls set to NOT recirculate and the heat turned up (maybe take it off Auto for a while). That should help dry out any residual moisture in the car.

The crack repair would only be an issue if you had a lot of moisture on the outside (driving rain, etc.) that was able to use the crack as an ingress point. You would probably see some amount of moisture around that spot. If not, then it's coming from somewhere else.

To be honest, my 2001 pickup that I had before I got the Edge would ice up like that all the time in the winter. It just meant that I had to let it warm up to the point where the defrost would start to clear it before I took off. It was probably due to melted snow in the carpet but it would eventually dry out.

The other day I had moisture, (not cold enough to freeze), like that on the inside of windshield of my 2011 MKX.
