  1. ^ Had the exact same issue.. My 07' OEM filter is a plastic frame with wire mesh as the actual filter.. Actually works pretty well and I frequently clean it.. I switched over to the FRAM and hated it. Air on MAX was the equiv. to Setting 1 or 2 with the new filter.. The first generation Edges have very weak AC systems to begin with, so I couldn't take that big of a hit.. I took it out the next day and put the OEM back in.

  2. Sounds very good.. Gas Mileage from Orlando to Miami with the wind behind me was 20Mpg the entire way there @ just over 5-10mph of the speed limit and on cruise control. On the way home, I fueled up, drove into the wind the entire road trip home, 5-10mph over the speed limit was was worried that the vehicle would have to get used to the exhaust air flow.. I actually averaged 26.1 the entire trip home, and was very pleased with it. Sounds a bit louder than the 350z and Infiniti G35-37... All in all, a very nice rumble but not raspy. I wasn't a big fan of the exhaust and have actually knocked it on this forum a few times but I wanted to help the OP out because he was looking for an OEM system and this was FREE.. Had I of had the option to pay for it, I wouldn't have spent a dime on it.

Orlando to Miami [location of install] was 259 miles.. Took me 5hrs with traffic on the way there and just at 4.5 on the way back.. My Edge has 22's on it and I was very pleased.. Cost me 100$ in gas round trip!

  3. Anytime would really be good, after this weekend. The wife and I would take a trip down there for the night, swap out exhaust and then hang on the beach for the day, most likely. It's about a 4hr drive if traffic is good. My email is Christopher.Lipsey@outlook.com. Shoot me an email and we'll take it off line and get details worked out better.

  4. I have found it on there website and am not stating anybody is wrong on it being there.. Just saying that I went to their website yesterday and today and if you click on Products and go to performance exhaust, I tried to search for Ford, but EDGE wasn't listed. IF you go to the top search and type Ford Edge, it states nothing matches their "Entire" website. It can be found, but it wasn't listed that way, when I went to there website yesterday. It is easier now that I see the section for make/model.

  5.

This is incorrect. 1. You searched for an hour but did not click on Trucks? Because all of their exhausts are definitely still listed on their site and mine.

Second, the companies believe in the platform that is why they developed the parts in the first place? Are you aware how much money goes into development? You truly have to believe in a product to create a part. They pull them because of people that share your opinion and will not purchase the parts and try to convince their fellow members to share their views. They cant sustain the loss in money anymore so they move on but I PROMISE you no company wants to pull the parts because when that happens they have basically just given up and considered a loss. It's in all companies best interest for the platforms that they believe in to do well and have a strong aftermarket.

This is the error message received when searching for there exhaust....

Sorry, currently we do not have any direct-fit systems that match your search,

but we do have the below available to help you create a system to fit your needs:

  6.

    a) Did you ever think that the weak link is not the engine but the transmission? For instance, the 4 speed trans in a 2002-2003 Maxima can take up to 500 hp on STOCK internals without blowing. This transmission is geared more for fuel economy. The 3.5L engine has the same pull as the VQ35DE from that same Maxima.

    B) Before you interject, I have been around modded and stock 3.5L 6 cylinder vehicles that did not sound like riced out Hondas. It just takes the right tune, exhaust, etc.

    c) There may be some of us in the minority that want some more kick out of our 3.5L Edges (myself included) because we believe the platform has the capability.

You believe the platform has the capability but no company that manufacturers those parts, believes in it.. That sir, is why every last company is pulling the performance parts for the Edge, they've created, off the shelf.. Magnaflow doesn't even offer an exhaust on there website anymore for the Edge.. I searched for about an hour today and couldn't find it.

This isn't true at all. It's the same 3.5 (and chassis) in the Fusion Sport and the same 3.7 in the Mustang. There is a good amount to "performance" if you like that type of thing. The engines react pretty well to mods and no 3.5 Liter sounds like a 2 or 2.4 Liter Honda when modified. I see plenty of Edge Sports running around so somebody out here cares about performance variants of the vehicle but it doesn't seem to transfer over to the aftermarket well. I personally think a couple bolt-ons and a tune would be a great mod for anyone on this forum(You dont have to get an exhaust if you still want it completely quiet). No it wouldn't be a race car but it improves gas mileage and makes things like merging and passing so much easier and fun. Plus why not significantly improve the driving experience for relatively cheap? They make a big difference. Otherwise, just get a minivan if you've completely given up anything resembling enjoyment when it comes to driving. And true performance brakes, especially on a heavy vehicle, are a no brainer to me. I drive fast sometimes and maximum safety/confidence in my vehicle is always a focus. That's just my opinion at least.

I am on the Ford Fusion Forum listed as Titanium_2013.. I know the Fusion and I have a 2013 Titanium. Stock, my eCoBoost will walk a sport fusion all day long. I would suggest bolt ons for a turbocharged car as stated above, I have done plenty of them to my 2014 Evo 9. Hardpiping, BOV, CAI and a tune acompanied by exhaust on the 2.0L Fusion and that thing will open right up. The numbers don't lie.. I guess I just don't see tuning and bolting add ons to a vehicle that doesn't have an engine that is tuned for it. The edge in my opinion isn't tuned for it. The EVO, Mustang GT's, Fusion eCoBoost, Subaru's and other cars' ARE!

How many modified 3.5 Liters have you been around? Because I have been around a lot and seen various dynos and most of the above just isn't true. I could break it all down for you from hands on experience but it is clear you have made up your mind.

If i were running a 2014 Evo 9 then I would love bolt ons.. Bolt ons such as hard piping, intercooler, exhaust, blow off valve, tune and CAI.. Those would net you roughly a 100hp, becuase of a Turbocharged engine that is made for running at those types of environments.. A 3.5L in an Edge is not made for a track, it isn't made to go fast and it surely isn't made for breaking and cornering. It's made to load up soccer balls and drive to your nearest practice or game day and have fun. It's a beach vehicle that can easily look good with some rims/tires and a suspension drop.. I love my Edge, hell for that matter I will be the first to admit, I have a tune on my edge and I have a CAI, they were all free to me becuase I know people and can get them at that freebie price, but I would never buy them. I didn't see any gains out of my bolt ons for my Edge and while it does sound good, it just didn't net me any GAINS.

I know my Evo 9, becuase I have one...! :)

What's the difference between a vehicle-specific, mandrel-bent system from someone like Magnaflow and one you have "custom made", other than the "custom made" one having no known standards for quality and a higher price tag?

I don't personally have any mods done to my Edge, but hey, whatever floats your boat. I have plenty done to my Cobra, including Magnaflow exhaust. ;)

A Mandrel bent system is usually routed and custom tuned by a professional.. Not one that is made in a manufactured way. Custom made systems will generally sound better and have a better air flow. Also, a true mandrel bent system will be completely welded and you will not have exhaust leak, like on a bolt on system. Magnaflow is a great system, don't get me wrong.. but if you're going to attempt it, do it right and right the first time.. Save yourself some money in the long run!

Bolt on.... As in CAI that doesn't add power or gas mileage improvements? Just a 300$ rip off to make your vehicle sound louder? LOL. The brakes on this vehicle are sufficient enough for the type of vehicle it is.. It's a pimped out soccer mom van, be honest with yourself. The vehicle weight is 4965lbs with 285 hp @ 6500 rpm in which you'd be lucky to see 230HP out of it. My opinions are that of mine but anybody and everybody can clearly admit that this forum is good for nothing other than LED modifcations on there vehicle. I am not trying to be rude, just being honest were its needed. If you are going to get an exhaust and have it custom made and mandrelly bent, that is one thing, but no matter what... The 3.5L at high RPM sounds like riced out gargle, if not done properly..

  11. Eatinitup, how do you like the Yokohoma Parada Spec X Tires? Miles on them, ride, handling, wear, wet traction, etc?

I live in Orlando Florida so we get our fair share of Rain.. The tires perform in my opinion 10*'s all around. I haven't had them in snow, but other than that they have been amazing on dry, wet and dirt/muddy roads. I just ticked 100k on my Edge and got them on when I had 70k miles. I easily have at least 15k left out of them. For the price point, they are an amazing tire. Very quiet and wear very evenly. I bought them from Discount Tire so every 5k I get them balanced and rotated for FREE, which you can't beat. I will be putting Parada Spec X's on again, once these run out. Even with 30k on them, they are a very very very quiet tire.. No hum at all!
