there is a latch behind all 3 rear seating positions, well there is on my 07 anyways. fyi if anyone else wants to do this on the passenger side of the armrest hinge there's a plastic cover, pop that off and remove a torq 45 bolt and the armrest comes right off. Our Britax car seat back actually fits perfect in the space that the armrest previously took.

Our child is now tall enough that we have to turn the car seat to face forward, unfortunately it hits the center headrest which appears to not be removable So I'd like to remove the center armrest completely and install the carseat. Does anyone know how this comes off? I don't want to install the carseat in any place but the center position, this is not an option.

We recently started experiencing a noise on our Edge (2007 SEL AWD with 20K miles) similar to what a mud tire on a 4x4 sounds like coming from the rear. We took it in to the dealer and by the parts list it looks like they replaced the hub and wheel bearing. It was covered under warranty, no issues there. I've never seen a wheel bearing fail that soon on any vehicle I've ever had. A sign of the times? cheaper quality bearings or just a random failure?

update While replacing a tail lamp on the other side this week I noticed the same situation. Out of curiousity I opened the side that was recently replaced and see that it's discoloured again as well. This is less than 3 months later We spoke to the service manager about it and he tells us it appears to be normal for that lamp/socket. It doesn't burn or melt, just discolouration. Seems odd to me, I'll be keeping a close eye on it. Being an electrician by trade, discolouration from heat on an electrical connection is never considered "normal"

How are you guys calculating mileage? Is there a chance the onboard computer is the problem and not the actual engine? Try calculating mileage from actuall fuel consumption/miles driven averaged over 3-5 fill ups.

am I missing something or by wiring box to the reverse light, won't you only be able to watch your DVD player (or whatever auxilary video input) when the car is in reverse?

Letting the vehicle roll back until the park pawl engages is just asking to damage it. The parking brake is there for a reason. The original poster should edit the title to read "Back Bumper Damaged Because Of Driver Error!

I have the Ford one, it's more than just a sticker. It's definitely enough to save your bumper from getting scratched up while loading stuff in the back. I think it looks much better than those bulky ones too.

We have zero issues with the airflow or cooling either. Our last roadtrip, the temp averaged between 35-42C (95-107F) and the fan was on low most of the time. That's with 3 adults, a baby and the car loaded to the roof with luggage and stuff. If you can't feel air coming out, it's a problem with your Edge, not all Edges.

Is there some Ford techs around here that can clarify this for us? (although it's looking kind of obvious this was overlooked on the 07's)

I just went and tried again. When I put it in reverse and back up close to something (bike rack isn't on right now) it beeps. Nothing shows on the display center and pressing the reset button does nothing. The only way I can make it stop is to scroll through the menu and manually turn the feature off. Then it's on again the next time I start it up. This I don't have an issue with. I just want to be able to press a button and turn it off quickly when I need to. My Edge is a 2007. Hopefully it's an easy fix to an annoying issue.

I noticed burnt looking sockets when replacing a burnt out rear lamp. I notified the dealer at the next service and they replaced them, no questions asked.

I have an issue with the reverse sensor disable feature on our Edge. We use a hitch mount bike rack and it's on the car 90% of the time. The reverse sensors (parking assist) detect the rack and activate the warning beeper whenever we shift into reverse. I've discussed this previously on this forum and received different replies. Basically I can go into the info center and disable the feature. This is a pain scrolling through the menu to turn it off. Not only that, every time I restart the car it defaults back to being on. Another user on this forum says he can press the reset button to temporarily turn it off. I have this on my F150 too and it's a great feature, but it doesn't work on my Edge. I asked the dealer and they said the only way to disable it was by going through the menu. They didn't buy into "but a guy on the internet said it should shut off with the reset button" If I could ask a huge favor to anyone with a few free minutes to check their reverse sensor for me? Basically back up to something close enough to make it beep, then press the reset button to see if it stops. Thanks a bunch!! Dave
