  1. Good review. I came very close to purchasing the MKX or Edge a few months ago. I found the Edge seats to be very hard. The MKX was a little better. Then I looked at the Lexus 350 and 09 Murano. I liked the exterior styling of the Lexus the best. I ended up with the Murano. It is much nicer than the first generation Muranos and has more feature that the Edge/MKX or Lexus. The gas mileage is good too. I am getting 21 city and 27 mixed highway. Very nice car. Glad I went with that one.
  2. Leave the guy alone. Do you always have to make some smart comment?
  3. I sure do, does it bother you? I hope so! Have a nice day!
  4. 07MKX, thanks again for the links but the Terk XM Direct WILL NOT WORK!!! Actually I was disappointed when they told me it wouldn't. CreamEdge, I agree with you 100%. Not only is the content better with XM but so is the reception.
  5. The XM Direct tuner reference in the above Google search will not work with any Ford or Lincoln vehicle manufactured after 2006. I spoke with Audiovox today and they said they will not update the Terk XM Direct tuners. They said that they are getting away from OEM integration and concentrating on aftermarket head units and standalone XM receivers. They said that the wiring harness was changed by Ford in 2007. They also said that their tuner would not work with Ford navigation head units. The only choices to get XM are to get the new vehicle with the standard radio and install an aftermarket navigation and XM tuner such as the Pioneer product line or go with a dash mounted XM receiver. If the merger happens, which I think it will, then maybe Sirius/XM will offer an ala-carte selection of channels from both services that can be received on the Ford provided Sirius tuner.
  6. No, not interested in Lexus at all. Never was on the list. I am with you on not going back to FM. Once I had satellite radio that was it. Heck, I would rather go with Sirius than go back to FM.
  7. I don't care if Sirius has 80,000,000 subscribers the reason I like XM better is because of the content. Content that is not available on Sirius. Neither company has made one cent since they have been in business. XM is also better in reception. Sirius has a problem with drop-outs. Not that XM doesn't at times but Sirius is far worse.
  8. I have been researching this because I am interested in the MKX. I was told that the Terk XM direct adapter might work. I just called Audiovox, the makers of Terk and they said that it will not work on any Ford/Lincoln vehicle after 2006. They said that Ford changed the wiring harness and that Audiovox did not update the XM direct adapter. In fact, he said that they are getting away from any OEM radio integration. I guess we are stuck with Sirius for now. By the way, as you know, XM is better than Sirius, much better regardless of what the other poster said. However, hopefully the upcoming merger will produce a universal tuner.
  9. 07 so you admit that the MKX has bad brakes. I was only quoting what I have been reading in the reviews. Didn't know that was a fact. Underpowered engine? I didn't say it was underpowered. You should get your facts straight. No thanks on the Lexus, I don't like it but thanks for telling me your opinion on what car to buy even though I never asked for it. And XM is better than Sirius for all the reasons that CreamEdge stated.
  10. I was initially interested in the MKX but stopped by to look at the Edge Limited. It is very nice and sure is a lot less money. I did not sit in either vehicle until today. It seems that the Edge's leather front seats are rock hard. I was a bit disappointed. Are the fabric seats the same? I can't understand why auto makers are making the seats so firm these days.
  11. That's what I thought too. The engine wouldn't be large enough to make a real difference. I guess the weight of the MKX probably has more of a factor in the mileage numbers. Be nice if it did a little better though. As of now this is the only new vehicle out there that I really like.
  12. I have a question about gas mileage regarding the MKX. I am very interested in the MKX but think I may wait until the 2009 models come out next fall. Hopefully the braking distance issues mentioned in various reviews will be addressed as well as the possible addition of a new 3.7 engine. If the new 3.7 engine is actually available in the 2009 MKX would the gas mileage be better than the current MKXs? I thought that since the MKX is a bit heavy that the larger engine may be better suited for the vehicle and provide a bit better mileage.
  13. Yes, XM is far superior to Sirius in my opinion. The Decades channels alone is worth it. Can't find anything similar to that with Sirius. Don't really care about DJs. If I wanted that I would have stayed with FM. I am so glad I made the change to XM. I thought that I would have to probably purchase Sirius then change out the tuner. The dealer couldn't answer me on this one.
  14. I am very interested in purchasing a 2008 Lincoln MXK. I see that Ford has aligned themselves with Sirius. I am an XM subscriber and find that XM is heads above Sirius in content. Is there any way to replace the Sirius tuner with an XM tuner? If not, this is a deal breaker because XM is the only way to go as far as I am concerned.
