  1. Both, if the turbine speed or output sensor fails, the computer does not know how fast things are spinning on either end, it also fixes the clunk. Get them replaced before they totally fail and leave you beside the road out in the middle of nowhere. $700-900 if done by a mechanic.
  2. I just replaced my two inner vents on my 2008 Edge SEL with the 2009 part numbers above. On FordParts.com I was able to get the LH Inner for 13.98 and the RH Inner for 31.18,savings of about $5 off the Ford Dealer quoted price. The outer vents were quoted to me at $49.97 each at the dealer and $66.37 each on FordParts.com, so I skipped them for now Free shipping to my local Ford Dealer with tax I only paid $56.36 for both and they do actually shut off and afford much greater adjustment in the horizontal plane. Unfortunately they do not allow any greater vertical adjustment than the old vents did but the ability to divert the air more to the center of the vehicle at least gets it off of your face and arms, and they DO shut off pretty well. We really love our Edge and the center A/C vents were really our only gripe - now that's much better.
  3. I have the vanity mirror but I also have the moon roof (high series open air roof), so I believe I would need to find a driver side visor the right color (camel), with homelink that came from an MKX with a moon roof, since there is a different listing for less sun roof and for the high series open air roof. I am searching for a used one, because $300+ new is not worth it to me.
  4. Will the drivers side sun visor from a 2008-09 Lincoln MKX with GDO (homelink) fit my 2008 Edge SEL?
  5. The factory has put out two different "filters" on the Edge A/C. Some have a zig-zag paper filter element and some have a screen with a plastic frame. I cleaned the screen on my Edge A/C last month and it helped ari flow. If you have a paper filter, you need to check it every 3 months or so especially if you are in a dusty climate. My beef with the A/C vents is that they do not deflect the air upward enough. Hot air rises an I like to direct A/C air up towards the ceiling to displace the hotest air first. I have found that opening the moonroof rapidly sucks the hot air out, but creates road noise. Looking at the vents themselves, it appears there is a plastic extension below the bottom horizonal loover that might be clipped off to allow the vents to be directed upward a little more. I'll get a flashlight and do a closer inspection to insure that there is not something else at play, but I think that will allow me to direct the cooled air up to where the really hot air accumilates. Just looking at the vents the highest elevation sends air out of the vents at just barely more than the horizonal and cold air drops as it comes out of the vents anyway.
  6. Press the button on the steering wheel showing a face talking. Sync asks for a command. Say "Phone". Sync repeats the command and asks for next command. Say "call < name in phone book > on cell" (if it is a cell phone). Sync repeats the command and calls the caller. Once I figured out the syntax it works flawlessly.
