Loving my matte black EGR grill
-
I purchased a set of 20" chrome rims on here last spring in mint condition with tires that didn't need to be replaced right away for about $850/900. If the tires are decent, a lil more is reasonable, IMOP

So a hail storm with 1/2-3/4" hail came through on Tuesday night and I never even noticed dents until I washed the cars today. The Edge had the following dents: Hood: 6+ Roof: 40+ Trunk: 0 Drivers Side: 15 Passenger Side: 2 The wife's 2005 Honda Accord faired much better as it was blocked from the side by the Edge but she had: Hood: 0 (that I could find) Roof: 28+ Trunk: 8 Drivers side: 6 Passenger Side 2 Is there a magic number where they would replace the roof or just pop them all out? I put the claim in for the Edge but I'm waiting to see how it goes before I make the claim for the Accord. The problem I see is that if we ever trade the Honda in, it is pretty worthless with the hail damage. Of course, I cannot live with the dents in the Edge and it will be fixed, no matter the cost. I've known some friends whose cars were totaled after getting hailed on but I don't believe we've come even close to that threshold. Thoughts, comments, experience, advice, all appreciated. -Mickey

You should never pay $300 a tire, going rate should be ~$150. Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct. I got 4 20" Pirellis delivered to my door on a special for under $600 last summer plus a $60 gift card.

Did you report it to Ford yet? I posted instructions on a similar name Topic. (sorry I don't have time to find it right now) I really think if enough people complain we could get it covered under warranty and some people would be able to get reimbursed. Good luck

Yes, I'm the proud owner of these rims -
Put my unpainted grill on the first month at 30K and am now at 70K. I'm very pleased with how it has held up w/OUT being painted. Wash it often and wax it too. I think it looks great w/the EGR bug guard as well. You can always paint it later. Good Luck

Lost my primary key.....story (medium length)

Ford just left a message, they got the 2nd key to work. Crisis averted. -
I, liking the matte black, got my grill from Levittown, in March of 12 and feel no need to take it off to paint it. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Lost my primary key.....story (medium length)
MickeyCondon posted a topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
So as packing to move to middle of nowhere TX after a quick trip to Maui, I lose my set of keys to my 2011 Edge SEL w/3 button key. So all I'm left with is what I will call my "Valet" key. Knowing my luck, and Murphy's Law, I refuse to drive 1600+ miles with the wife following me while driving the moving truck and just one key between us when we have 3-4 stops along the way. So I get to Ford, explain to them I only have this one Valet key. Ok, $2X for another Valet key, $100 for programing, $60 if you want a 3 button Fob thing, I'm like ok as long as everything is under $200. Thought it was going to take an hour, 2 hours later, a new Valet key wont program and I wasn't willing to make a $120 bet (and neither were they) for a new 3 button key. So I hope things can work themselves out over the next 10 days while I'm away and the new 3 button key I got for $17 on ebay, I hope to program as long as I have 2 working keys. We shall see. -

How much did that combo set you back?....if you don't mind me asking? -
After dropping off the car this morning for a TSB, I was surprised to check out the new Edges w/STR's and not STR A's. Guess its been my mistake all along.

Dingo, In your experience, is there any difference between the STR and the STR A?
