  1. My apologies. I am just very frustrated with this. I do appreciate your opinion as I have asked for it. Thanks. I will look into the products you suggested. Are they part of Ford's regular service items or is this just something that your dealership provides?
  2. This is obviously an issue with the Edge as many forum members have complained about this. I have 6 other Fords in my service fleet and NONE of them have this issue. Some of them with over 250k. If this is a service provided by Ford, why did the service department look at me like I had 3 heads when I asked what to do about it? Their comment was "my vehicle stinks too". Ya, so does the Bullsh** about this problem. What is the service number for this AC service? I would like to enquire about it.
  3. I don't think it's blocked. There is always water dripping under vehicle when AC runs.
  4. I am going to try the Lysol spray thing to get rid of the unbearable stink from the AC. Can't even use it anymore on my 13 SEL. I will be pulling the glove box and cabin filter to get more direct access to components as I think this would have more effect than just spraying it in the cowling. Any tips or suggestions? Any particular component/area I should be looking for under dash?
  5. Self parking vehicles may appeal to some people but that's because they can't drive. Taking away the need to complete a pretty common and basic driving task such as parallel parking, IMO, is leading to poorer drivers. What happens when they have to park a different vehicle? Ever go to pay for something at a store and after the cashier has already entered in the amount tendered showing the change due and you hand over some extra coins? What happens? They look at you as if you're handing over a chicken or pig to pay with. They don't need to count anymore so they can't figure it out. Most have to go grab a calculator.
  6. The DTE reading on my vehicle is accurate. It just sucks, that's all. Upon filling, I'll get a DTE reading of maybe 450 and get 350 to 375 km on the tank. How is it another identical vehicle gets 200 km more on a tank on both DTE and actual mileage? That's 33% more. That's a huge difference.
  7. Anyone else ever show over 600 DTE on their edge? I've never seen over 500 so what the heck is going on? Anyone from Ford care to chime in?
  8. Is there a way to reset the DTE calculation without disconnecting battery?
  9. It will show yellow and warn you when there is 80km of fuel left and then again at 40km. It will also show every time you start vehicle when it's below 80.
  10. I used industrial Velcro. I think I got it at Canadian Tire. Just be sure to clean the surfaces with alcohol and let Velcro dry overnight before attaching together.
  11. DTE is the "Distance To Empty" shown on your left instrument gauge when you go to the start of the display menu. This is just an estimate based on your average driving. DTE is usually higher that what you will actually travel. What engine do you have? FWD or AWD?
  12. Can you post a pic of your DTE? Mine has NEVER been over 450km Even when reset.
  13. 72.7L. Anyone else who does only city driving care to comment on their tank distance? I mean actual km travelled. Not DTE. I'm not a passive driver but certainly not overly aggressive. I think this mileage is crap.
  14. Guess I'm moving to Cleveland lol. I think i'm getting the MPG shaft. $80 in my Edge barely gets me 400k. $130 in my work 4 door quad cab base model F-150 gets 800. Hmm. Something wrong with this math. And don't even start about the HP thing because the F150 would get to the end of the 1/4 mile, turn around and come back and push my Edge across the line. Seems just wrong to enjoy driving the Titanic Truck over the speedboat. With the exception of the 493 ft turning radius, I would rather drive the Titanic. At least when you press the gas pedal, it responds.
  15. I have a 2013 SEL. For the first time since I bought it, I hit got over 400 km city driving on a tank. 413 to be exact. I have averaged between 340 and 390 depending on season, idle time, remote start etc. Just wondering what other 3.5's are getting?
  16. I had the headlight assemblies on the bench so they were easy to work on. I installed ballasts in OEM location. Had to cut a couple corners of the screw mounting holes on the ballasts and then trim a bit of plastic on the headlight where the connector for the ballast was.
  17. Yes I had to trim 2 tabs. See photo of OEM bulb. The black sharpie colored areas are what you have to trim. Shorten the entire big tab and take just the corner off the right one. You need to rotate the entire assembly one turn clockwise (top of the bulb towards passenger side). You want return wire at bottom so shadow is on top. The pics of the lights shining on the white paper show the bulbs in original tab location (shadows) and then turned 1 tab clockwise (no shadows). I ordered a spare HID kit and I see the bases of the bulbs are different. Tabs and return wire look to be the same as my original HID kit. If your return wire is at bottom with the bulb inserted without trimming tabs, then you should be OK.
  18. On the original version you could. Although they would be full brightness at night time. The electronics were built into the light. The new versions have a dedicated wiring harness so you would not be able to use OEM plug. There is still a pseudo connector on the light but it's just someplace to connect and store the OEM plug. It doesn't connect to anything.
  19. Yes, you don't actually lose high beam but rather have kick butt low beam as the bulb is full brightness all the time. The shutter moves in high beam mode to let the light shine further and higher down the road. As for the pics, here is what they are in the order you see on the thumbnails. 1 - Daytime in park. LED DRL on at 100% 2 - Parking lights/running lights only. Same as pic 3 without the HID on. Turn signals dim and LED DRL at 70%. Also courtesy mode when unlocking vehicle. Amber portion of LED DRL flashes on unlock then white at 70%. 3 - Night time with HID 4 - Daytime DRL. Turn signal bright as dealer re-programmed DRL and LED DRL at 100%. Factory HID would have same amber, but no fabulous DRL LED in the bumper. Can't believe Ford dropped the ball on that one.
  20. I should have dusted of the digital SLR but here are some pics from my small camera.
  21. I tried taking some pics with my phone. Not so good. I'll try again tomorrow at dusk with a real camera. Need that right amount of daylight otherwise the pics are too dark and the lights just glare.
  22. Anyone sync the new iPhone with my ford touch yet? Just wondering if text messaging works. I know every time I update my iPhone to a new OS I have to run through the reset procedure in order to receive text messages on the screen
  23. That was the point. Vehicles with factory HID will have the turn signals as DRL. Non HID equipped vehicles will have headlights as DRL. Having the DTBL's as well as the amber turn signals looks sharp. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I'm back in town.
