Just found my second Edge after being out of one since 2013. Now in a low mile 2018 Edge Sport that for the most part is near brand new condition. Happy to be back to Ford.

After a repeat trip to a local dealer, they acknowledged something didn't sound right and ordered a new compressor. They put it in, and viola, no more noise. Ultimately, the tech said it was likely a bearing inside the compressor was this issue. Glad this is resovled.

It is definitely only a noise heard with the A/C on. Momentarily ( a second or two) after turning the A/C off, the noise stops. To add more info, the noise is proportionate the RPM level - more RPM's more prominent noise. It also only occurs during acceleration. I do not hear it at idle or while reving in neutral.

Broke down and scheduled an appointment with the local dealer only to hear that this noise is a normal compressor noise. I'm still not convinced having never driven a car that made this much noise with the a/c running. Maybe I'll try a different shop.

Hi all - Curious if anyone else with a 2011 3.5 hear the same thing I'm hearing. With the air off - all is good and quiet. If the air is on, when accelerating from a stop I hear this 'straining' type noise coming the engine compartment. It starts in 1st gear and gets really noticable in 2nd and 3rd gears. Then it seems to disappear come 4th gear. At first I was thinking power steering of some sort but I have assuredly narrowed it down to when the air is on. Any thoughts on where to look or diagnose further? Thanks

Is there a way to customize the Homescreen? I'm a week long Edge owner and manual says double tap on the Home icon should bring a menu with some options to do some customizing. I don't get that menu. It looks like I'm on the current version because I only have the time in the top center - no outside temperature. Appreciate any help or thoughts.
