  1. SYNC is just a brand name. The underlying software is Windows Automotive 5.0, a version of Windows Embedded. It doesn't really need to be hacked, Microsoft has made public the framework and an SDK for this. If you have the skills and the tools, just write your own objects and you have 100% control over the behavior of everything in your vehicle. If you are a skilled developer, everything you need to know to take command of your SYNC system is here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsautomotive/wa5/default.mspx
  2. Clearly this can't be totally for real, but curious if anyone has tried it (it's only nine dollars...). Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PERFORMANCE...sspagenameZWDVW From the post: PERFORMANCE CHIP FORD EDGE 2007-2008 NEW NIB ACR performance chip specifications - 45+ Horsepower (50-55+ HP on trucks and SUV's) - 45+ Ft. lbs of Torque ( 50-55+ HP on trucks and SUV's) - 7-9+ MPG better fuel saving - Improved Acceleration - Improved AutoX Lap times - Improved 1/4 and 1/8th mile track times - Better mid-range acceleration - Higher Top-End power - Increased towing payload ...and of course they list more... ----------- goes without saying that I am extremely sceptical, but could be proven wrong...
  3. Bought my wife a combined Christmas/Birthday present a couple days ago, a 2007 Edge SEL+: - AWD - Blazing Copper - Charcoal Leather - Towing package - Seating Flex Package - 18" wheels - Roof rails - Rear seat entertainment/DVD - Audiophile system Window sticker: $33,725 (including $705 D&D) Negotiated price: $29648 Applied rebates: $1750 Final price paid: $27898 *does not include MN state sales tax (of $1673.62), MN registration/license fee (of $395.00), and my "doc fee" contribution to the dealer profit (negotiated by the way) of $50. TTL + doc fee added in: out the door the car was $30016.62 notes: (1) I could have had $2750 in rebates, but gave back $1000 in return for FMC 3.9% financing. (2) In addition, the dealer gave me $4,000 trade-in on her old 2000 Ford Focus which I felt like was a pretty good offer.
