  1. My 4gb flash drive is empty. When I try to download the update, it shows the progress bar for a second at 1%, then it goes away. When I look at the flash drive to see if there is a file, it shows a Ford file that's only 4k. But that's it. I'm sure the Sync update is bigger than 4k.
  2. I've tried 10-20 times between yesterday and today to download the update. It keeps saying "try again". I tried using Firefox and IE and neither one will download the file. I'm open for suggestions. Thanks.
  3. Try these. I built them in PhotoShop using similar colors to what the native screen has, red for entertainment, yellow for phone, etc. Since I created these in PS, the colors, layers, textures, shadows, etc are totally editable for your customization. I also lined up the grid so it's centered under the crossed lines on the default home screen. I'm still working on adding simulated "shadows" that would be under the text and graphics to give a simulated 3D effect. I can't attach PSD files so if you'd like me to send them to you I will.
  4. I test drove a 2012 SEL with the fold flat passenger seat and it's still offered on the 2013s. The option seems to show up randomly, some SELs have it, some don't, and it's standard on the Sport. Limiteds don't have it because the passenger seat is an 8 way power seat. Wish I could trade the passenger seat. Once in a while, I haul some 2x4s for remodeling and it'd be nice to put them inside, instead of tying them to the roof rack. Rolled over 1300 miles so far and I'm enjoying the car, very quiet, smooth, no problems. Really like the MFT, easy to use and logical. Replaced the license plate lighting with LEDs, gives it an upscale look. Now I'm looking for LED lighting for the cabin lights.
  5. I'm satisfied with my new 2012 Edge Limited. It's quiet, rides nice, and being a techie, I love the MFT and the configurable dash displays. The MFT was very easy to learn, although it did take some time to customize the look, radio stations and set up my Sync website. Showing friends the weather radar totally blew them away. Navigation works great and I especially like being able to put the basic navigation info on the dash screen. I put in a Husky cargo liner in back and removed the front license plate frame. I've got the deep red paint that looks like it's liquid, very nice. The fit and finish is tight and Ford used quality materials throughout. Only a few minor quibbles. I wish the leather seats had more side support, bigger bolsters. After having cloth seats for years, the leather seats feel as though I might slide out. And I wish the front passenger seat folded flat like in the SEL models. Overall, this is the nicest vehicle I've ever owned out of about a dozen.
  6. Now there's something I wish I could unread, considering I bought an Edge Limited two weeks ago. I spent a lot of time surfing the web for user opinions, reviews and articles on the Edge. The biggest problem I read about was the MFT, that dang-burn new fangled interface that was confounding every driver with black screens and reboots. Did CR slam BMW when they introduced their iDrive system with that dang-burn new fangled interface that was confounding every driver with black screens and reboots? Other issues I read about concerned brakes and the tranny, but those problems seemed random and rare. I Googled "Ford Edge Review" and found rankings averaging between 7 and 8.5 out of 10 from pro reviewers and consumers alike. I'm completely satisfied with my new Edge. And the new software on the MFT is logical and well laid out, right down to the color coding. But damn, that article does give me pause when I think about trading and resale value in a couple of years. CR paints with a broad brush and consumers will take that one line and run with it no matter how good the Edge is.
