  1. I am just saying you need to have it on. I assume you can turn it after engine is started. All I know is that if it is in Off position and it starts raining the rain sensing wipers will not come on.
  2. OK. Problem is fixed. After taking back to glass shop and taking it to ford garage problem was not fixed. I then got out manual and after research on internet I figured out what problem was. The knob that controls the speed of delay wiper also controls the sensativity of the rain sensing wipers. The person that replaced windshield in the first place must have turned the delay wipers and in turn turned off the rain sensing wipers. I can't believe the people at ford garage did not know how it operates.Anyway the problem is fixed. Set your delayed wipers speed before you start engine and that also sets the rain sensing wipers to on. Thank you the post akirby.
  3. Ford checked. They removed cover and verified that plug was hooked up.
  4. I recently had a cracked windshield. I had it replaced with OEM windshield. The part numbers on windshield match so this is a rain sensing windshield. When I got out in the fist rain storm I noticed no rain sensing wipers. I returned to body shop that replaced windshield. They told me they would check in to it for me. Later body shop called and said they checked with Ford and the system would have to be reset .So I went to Ford garage and they tried to reset by disconnecting battery. They were good about it and did not charge me anything. They called Ford and was told I needed to return to person that replaced windshield and they needed to reinstall senser in windshield and maybe replace windshield again. Anyone have a problem like this? Anyone know of a fix for the rain sensing?
  5. I called the number on the letter Ford sent. Very nice person and very helpful. She said I would get USB with download in 7 to 10 days. Very little wait time on phone.
  6. FWD. Full loaded, Silver with black pin stripe just above door handles. Great looking ride in my opinion.
  7. Took my Edge Limited from Missouri to Florida. About 2000 miles over all. Lots of short trips in Florida. Overall got 23.5 miles to gallon. I have the V6 and drove mostly 74 to 75 mph. I tried driving faster and did see my mileage decrease. Found seats and ride very nice. Really like the backup camera and blind spot features. My ford touch performed without a hitch and navigation was super thru out trip. Best vehicle I ever owned for ride and comfort. Had several people say I wanted an Edge but chose something else because of cost. That was there mistake.
  8. I ran a vehicle health report right after I got my 2013 edge in October of this year. I just tried to run it again and it gets a error message that server is unavailable. My I phone works fine and my number is registered correctly with sync my ride. I have tried it 4 days in a row and some times I tried it 5 or more times. Still nothing. Is anyone else having this problem?
  9. Enjoy your 2011 Edge... Best ride I ever owned.
  10. Good luck with your new Edge. We really love ours. About 1000 miles and no problems yet. How did you get it so quick? Was it a large dealership?
  11. Well Redpony the best I can tell you is the Edge is a great car. I have only had my Edge limited for three weeks. It is fully loaded and everything worked from the start and is still working. The wife and I really love it. As far as the price there is $1500 dollars in rebate, $1500 if you finance some of the vehicle thru Ford, and if you contact ford on line and request a brochure you might get another $750 dollars off if your brochure comes with a coupon. Thats $3750 off on the vehicle to start with. Tack on your tradein and what ever you can get from the dealership, sure seems like a good deal to me. The brakes on my new Edge seem really good, my ford touch has been trouble free, and all the extras on the vehicle make it a pleasure to drive. I would buy new again. I can't help you out on Fwd or Awd. I have Fwd and haven't owned long enough to drive in snow yet. I'm sure someone else will help you out with that info. Good luck in what ever you do.
  12. My brochure took about a week and a half to receive. I requested one on exployer, escape and edge. Received all three. You can only use one. They are good on any vehicle as the brochure states. I was starting to wonder if I was ever going to receive them. Hang in there they will show up.
  13. I got my Edge Limited Saturday morning. Total of 78 days order to delivery. I don't understand what took so long but so far it is worth the wait. I have been playing with buttons since I got it. Took one ride of about two hours and it did just great. I know you will love yours also. Good luck.
  14. Ordered my edge limited on August 3rd. It is still not here. Dealer told me yesterday that my edge was on a truck to be delivered tomorrow. My edge was 12 weeks from order to delivery. Small dealership and small country town where I live may be the reason for order to take so long. I live 60 miles south of St Louis. Good luck getting it faster.
  15. The dealership didn't call me when they got a update. I had to go in an ask. I would check with them. The plant that makes the edge's is in canada. They just settled their union contract last Sunday. I was wondering if that slowed them down. My dealer also told me 8 to 12 weeks. I think my will be 12 weeks. I found out this week that my edge is to be built the week of 8 October. Delivery is to be the week of the 22nd of October. Good luck on a build date. Keep me posted. Just curious.
