Love My 13 Edge Sport.... Don't want to beat up the MFT but........ I have had Sync with Nav in my vehicles since it came out. Am I the only one with this frustrating glitch in the software. You ask for a POI or previous destination or whatever.. when the info is displayed she gives abosolutely no time to respond. "please choose a line number". I look at the screen which lags anyway and within 2 seconds she is requesting/talking/requesting/talking..."please choose...please choose.......please choose". Finally she determines that the road noise or a foreign sound she heard means an answer and she chooses for me. My wife and I try to be quiet and stop the car but she still will not wait. Does anyone know if the system can be paused. It should be simple....she displays the info...I push the voice button once....she pauses until I push the button again to give my answer. I have posted on the Sync Forum many times and it disappears quickly. Am I the only one with this frustrating issue???

Ok I spoke to Bob at Airbag Service in Hamilton. Anyone who wants their DRLs switched over to parking lights you can contact him. $ 100 approx. He says the dealers don't want to deal with it there's no money in it. Email this for an appointment. airbagexpert@me.com

I'll have an answer about this shortly when I speak to the mechanic that did my Edge. I watched him plug in his laptop into the PCM under my dash and he scrolled thru all the functions of the vehicle, then found DRLs and switched them to parking lights. That's what Ford does when you order factory hids the DRLs are moved to parking lights. My friend engineer at Ford said the Edge is the same vehicle built in Oakvile shipped everywhere and all they do is program (Miles or Km ) (DRLs or not) HIDs or not. The vehicle is not built differently, they simply program differently. I will ask my mechanic why the dealers can't or won't do it. I'll post the details soon.

I'm not sure if there was a change. I've been told the bulb that works is a 9006. The tabs on the 9006 look different and much smaller than the factory 9012. I received some great advice on the forum to use the 9006 and shape one of the tabs to make it fit. Sounds like good advice since a 9012 is non existent.

I also want to give the man and his company a well deserved thanks. Everything as promised. The last time i received this kind of service was 30 years ago when I dealt with real people. Generally speaking, service in most on line businesses today has become an inconvenience to a companies bottom line. Usually their plan is to pour the cash into marketing, sell the item, get the cash, and deliver the product. If an issue arises later, they make it so difficult to contact the right party, and make it almost impossible to return or exchange the item because of shipping costs, time, and delays. So you end up eating the item because it is too much hassle to rectify the problem. BrightLights is a breath of fresh air. I wish I could buy my next car from the guy!! FYI... Canadian customers who have, or may be considering the LED DRLs. If you have some flickering or dimming effects not related to the product the simple solution is to go to your dealer or mechanic and have the PCM re- programmed to switch your DRLs from the headlights to the parking lights. It takes 2 min. Two reasons.....one... it eliminates the issue of conflict when it is wired to the headlight circuit. and other issues that occur when HIDs are installed. Two) if you don't install HIDs you won't notice the vast difference in the white colors between the LEDs and factory DRL headlights. Also....maybe it's me, but the Edge looks cool with parking light DRLs. I found this out from an engineer at Ford. The Edge and Lincolns are built near my house.

Anyone know the correct HID bulb for 2013 Edge. The factory bulb is 9012, but some suppliers say 9006 works. Anyone know the real scoop??? Thanks

Canadian DRLs Easiest solution to installing HIDs when the headlights are programmed as DRLs is the following. Go to any mechanic or dealer. Tell them to switch over your DRLs to the parking lights. It is simply done with a scan tool takes 2 min. Now your HIDs will not cause any issues. FYI...the program does not allow for turning off the DRLs permanently. Two choices headlights or parking lights. I did it and all is well except trying to locate 9012 bulbs.
