Well I may have spoken too soon! After e-mailing my salesman to let him know I wouldn't be able to wait, he miraculously found an Edge almost to my exact specifications, so now he's trying to get it for me... *crossing fingers* :hyper:

Thanks for the info guys... unfortunately I need to get my student loans and can't wait as long as I thought I could... which means I'll either end up with another car (Chrysler 300) or buying the only other Edge with the options I want from the JERK that wouldn't trade it to my dealership. Someone in CA will be very lucky and pleased with my Edge

Hey guys... I finally got the VIN for the Edge I ordered from my dealer... can someone track it for me to see how long it will be before I get it? Please 2FMDK38CX7BA73120 I wish dealerships in CA were more friendly about trading the Edges so I could have one now, but they all want to keep them (which doesn't make sense to me if it's a trade)... I get the X-plan which is basically the invoice, and the invoices are only about $1500 less than the MSRP, so I don't think you'll be seeing $2000 off for a while. My salesman said this is because it's a new model, and that they don't mark up the new models much. Don't know if this is true, but I have seen the invoice prices, and there's not that much room to negotiate. I'm curious as to what kind of "deals" people will be able to get on them.... Spidy

OK, I've heard some conflicting information about the color of the gauges- I read a review on carspace.com where someone was wishing that Ford would get rid of the green illumination- and someone replied that they are "ice blue" on the Edge. The Edge I test-drove had green illumination with red arms (which I don't like at all but will look over)... but I'd much rather have blue illumination. Does anyone know if they all have the green illumination? Is blue coming in the future, or was it used on some vehicles for any certain reason (seating package or trim)? Spidy

Hmmm, well wouldn't that be a plesant surprise if mine happened that fast- I did confirm with my salesman that he has turned the order in... so I guess as long as it or another I want gets here before the 5th (when he says incentives change and my quote for tread-in expires) I'll be good!

My salesman is supposed to put in my order today... but he's going to keep a lookout in the meantime for one like or close enough to what I want, so that way hopefully I'll get one sooner!

Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so feel free to move it if you need to ... but how long would a special order take at this point? I put a deposit down on an Edge Friday that was in Los Angeles, and yesterday they told me that it was sold before my dealership could get it I've tried searching through California's inventory and I don't see another Edge even close to the way I want. So... I'm thinking I can order the one I want and have my salesman keep checking the inventory at the same time until we either find one here or the order arrives. I'm just worried that the residual will drop more (had heard it would be 59%, then in Dec it was 52% and now it was going to be 51%) and my trade-in value will decrease the longer I have to keep it.
