Hi., it works gr8, i have activated Remote Start and DRL through IDS V85.

Hey guys, i know this is not the topic to post it but still i am doing it.

I have Edge-2013 SE model and wants to install the Remote Entry Keypad (One without need of any wiring) I got ti from eabay and tried a lot to program it but remain unsuccessful.

Can anybody guide the right process by any means.

Plz note that i also have IDS, search a lot in IDS also but didnt find any such option, although i have made customer spare key programming enable through IDS.

Ford People are amazing, one of my friend bought Edge SEL in Sep-12, the keys provided with the vehicle have remote start button, upon inquiring with dealer about the remote start, answer was "NO". this car dont come with Remote Start, you have to install it separately.

Yesterday, we were just connected the IDS+VCMII to the vehicle and try to check the Remote Start function, just made it enable but then found that there is no hood switch, for testing install Hood switch from another vehicle and amazed to know that car starts remotely.

So just for a part of $25 (Hood Switch), These FORD people had disabled the Remote Start Function... Salute to the,.........................

I want to do Vice versa, because this 4-button / 5-button IKT have low range....

I have both 5-Button (Originally come with the Vehicle)

and

4-Button (Comes with the Remote Start Kit)

I am not satisifed with the performance of both and need some long range keyfob, but dont know this depends on the kayfob or the both (transmitter & Receiver)

 

I stopped by my local Ford Dealer this afternoon to have the DRL option looked at. I have a 2013 Ford Edge with HID headlamps. The IDS only had the DRL option of the orange turn signal lights for my configuration. There was not an option for the LED strips/bars on the lower front bumper that we could see.

 

NIKAL, was the tech able to locate that option for 2013 Edge's?

There is no option to make the Bumper Light act as DRL for 2013, i have 2013 Edge and i have enable the DRL option through VCM-II / IDS.

The only available option is the "Front turn signal / Parking Light" to act as DRL.

It working in a range of less then 50ft only

Just installed the Remote Start Kit for my ford edge

Part No: BC3Z19G364A

Do it myself: installation and Activation through IDS

But i observe that the range of the transmitter (as shown in figure-1) is very low.

Can any body suggest solution to this?

Can we use some other long range keyfob for remote start from some other start kits ( may be from CL3Z-19G364- ??

Looking forward for the expert opinion.

I have been trying to get this issue solved since last 2-weeks. discussed the same with the Service Supervisor (at Reception) and Service Technician also.

As per local ford dealer, they didn't perform this job in past and after 2-weeks of study the installation/activation manual, they have come up with an 8-hrs job for Installation / Activation. This really sucks.

I have now ordered VCM-II with IDS. will keep u posted once i received and experience the same.

Any idea about using VCM-II with the Ford Edge to activate the Remote Start option.

I have recently installed the Remote Start System 100 Series Plug n Play to my edge (Myself) but Dealer is asking too much for just activating the Remote Start option through IDS. (Approx $400).

I am planning to purchase VCM-II. please share your experiences

Any idea about Chinese versions of VCM-II, will it work with Edge-2013?

Any body know the location of ECU? or where to connect the VCM-II

I have tried but it didnt help, vehicle enter into the programming mode but upon pressing any key on the IKT (Integrated Key Transmitter) Horn sounds, instead of door lock/unlock.

Will any body help me on this. i also need help to programm the RF Key pad

SE do have the puddle light holes but no wiring

I have tested mine 2013 Edge @ 185km/hr (114.95Mph) in Saudi Arabia. Solid handling and Road Grip.

This is the Top Speed i got. Edge didnt go above it, it think speed is locked @185km/hr

I have the same problem, and have found that this problem arrises almost in every edge

My SE already have the wiring harness for the front bumper (Vertical) Lights, I just removed the Black covers and install the Lights.
