  1. I want to say last time I checked it it read 5.5 but I thought I kept seeing online it was actually 6. I bought the motorcraft OEM oil filter. FL-500S filter
  2. Awesome. Thank you. So if its ford OEM fluids I should be fine?
  3. Finally that time to change the oil this weekend. Doing my edge and my fiancés fusion. 6 quarts is the typical fill up amount for the 3.5L on the edge right?
  4. And my washer level is low but I got that one covered lol.
  5. My brake fluid, coolant, and power steering are all low. Can I simply buy any fluid manufacturer and top them off?
  6. No, I just grabbed a drill bit and sized it up with the rivets in the bracket. Drilled thru both rivets in a matter on mins. With a little clean up that is what I was left with. Very happy with the results.
  7. No worries my friend. We have been there and done that. I am just glad to hear that it does in fact meet spec because I have $100 worth of oil sitting at the house lol. I guess now I can change the oil this weekend. Thanks everyone!!
  8. Last Saturday I got WeatherTech Extreme floor mats and WOW they are perfect. I have the complete set and I must say they are worth every penny.Fit 100% perfect and are thick.
  9. I see in the settings on the dash that you can set the oil life reminder for different %'s. I have put 6,000 miles on my Edge since I bought it. The Ford dealer said they changed the oil prior to me buying it and when I checked the oil you could tell it was fresh. At what percentage does the oil change reminder come on?

    Engine noise

When I first crank my 2011 SE it has a ticking sound. I can hear it when I am standing outside but nothing can be heard while sitting in the Edge. After about a few minutes of driving the sound goes away when I am just sitting there. Also, I have 23,xxx miles on mine. My parents have a 2012 SEL so I will ask them if their's does the same thing and report back.
  11. Well, thank you I did not know about that with the warranty lol. Ah I did not know that about the specs and stuff either. I on avg drive about 12-15000 (15,000 is the very high end) miles a year. You do not think that would be ok?
  12. I am also almost out of my warranty period
  13. What do you mean by didn't mean spec?
  14. I am getting ready to do my first oil change on my 2011 3.5L. Edge has 21,000 miles on it. I am thinking about doing the Amsoil once a year oil change and wanting to know if anyone else has done this and what they think about it. Also what oil filter does everyone use? From everything I have read most people do not seem to like Amsoil but I can get a great deal on it. I have used it in the past on Mach 1 Mustang and I loved it. Seems most people also recommend the 6qts over the 5.5qts. Thank you in advance with any information you can provide.
  15. I agree WWW. I am all for debadging a vehicle
  16. If I was to get DDM kit would my automactic lights still work? Are they simple plug and play kit? On my Dodge I had to have an error delete and I could never get them to work right. On my Mach 1 mustang I had a plug and play and they worked flawless. Hopefully, the Edge is the same way. BTW I have a 2011 SE
  17. Well I finally got around to taking it off after three months lol. I will probably get some chrome plugs for now. But I was debating getting a new piece and plasti dipping my grille or getting the Kona Blue color matched grille from Ford. Not sure yet. Before After
  18. normally there is a garment (spell check) near the steering column or close to it on the fire wall. what I like to do to is cut a small hole in that and run the power cord through it. nice and clean and water tight. also doesn't rub the wire against metal and short it out.
  19. You can easily pull the trim panels back along the carpet line to tuck the wires inside. Pull the door trim scuff panels off to make it a little easier. I had BB install a simple CD player in an old S10 I had. Long story short they WILL never install anything for me again. I perfer to do my own if possible.
  20. Good stuff I'll I'd rather just run 6x8's and have the plug and play adapter for easy use. not point in slpicing if you dont have too lol. I have always run my own wires and done all my own installs but I am not sure what the RCA's would plug into. if running the factory head unit. Remote wire can be anything that turns on with the car. Power and ground wire are self explanatory lol.
  21. I also notice that it shows the some speakers, the same pair, will only fit front or rear doors but not both. and some pairs will for both but they are all 6x8. are the doors different depths or something. The more I think about it I would like to add my subwoofer to the Edge. If I have the SE model how would I go about getting the subwoofer amp added? If there a harness for plug and play or something like that?
  22. I have looked at those a number of times but a lot of what I have read is saying you should really run an amp to get the full potential of the Kappa's. I'm on Crutchfield and it is showing three different sizes. what is the biggest size speaker for both front and rear doors I can fit without modification?
  23. Awesome thank you for the information. I will have to keep these as an option for sure.
