Bought my 2008 Ford Edge with 65,000 miles on it. Replaced the external seal on the PTU at 70,000 miles. Just replaced all 3 seals (internal and external) at 105,000 miles. My extended warranty is up at 115,000 miles. And every time I get this fixed, I have to pay the deductible. I went round and round with the dealership on this one. I wanted the whole unit replaced but they refused. I'm going to be fuming mad when it fails again in another 30,000 miles and my warranty is up. They wouldn't even guarantee the seal for the next 30,000 miles. Has anyone had any luck with convincing their dealer to replace the whole unit? I'm not sure replacing the whole unit is the answer, but replacing the seal every two years is unacceptable.
