  1. I have a pair of headlights from my 2011 ford edge limited which I no longer need because I replaced them with custom ones. These are extremely difficult to find in good condition.

They are in great condition, normal wear and tear but there are no scratches to the lens or chrome. I did repair a tab on one of them...

These do not come with the HIDs or ballasts, however the passenger side light still has a ballast attached but I am not sure if it works or not.

    Should fit 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 models.

If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me.

  2. I exited my Edge and walked away. Heard what sounded like a few beeps from the alarm but figured it was not my car. Walked back out to try to start the Edge, everything turned on ( AC, Lights, etc ) pressed ignition button and everything turns black and does not start.

I am guessing this is an alarm thing?

i've tried waiting 10-15 minutes. Tried putting fob in the special slot. Did not try removing negative from battery as I did not have a wrench with me.

Any ideas what this may be or how to solve this? I am praying after work that I walk back and the thing starts?

    Thanks!

  3. Thanks for the great comments and suggestions!

The Edge is holding up nicely through the summer. I've had a few issues with the new headlights but we are working through them as they arise. I finally finished all the mods I had left which were unfinished ( lowered the front license plate bracket, removed the iron rail dust, and finished the back black and white Ford Logo ), waxed it up and took a few snapshots of the finished product, at least for awhile!

This was an expensive project but honestly, the car looks insane. I couldn't be happier:)

  4. Got bored tonight and ran outside from the screaming kids and quickly plasti-dipped the chrome stripe down the side and under the windows. 5 coats of black and 4 clear coat made.

Gotta admit, this took no time at all, 80 minutes total and looks fantastic. Totally changes the look.

I am also attaching a sneak peak what Whiteis33 is doing for me. This is only half of it but it looks very promising.

  5. White33 received my lights yesterday and hopefully will start working on them this week. I did indeed see your video and loved it. I didn't want to have identical lights as you, so we are going a slightly different route and will post pictures and hopefully a similar video as yours once its complete.

I actually grabbed two lights off Ebay, intending to have those directly shipped to White but an error had them sent here instead. So I was able to send him my originals, which are in perfect condition and hopefully I can do something fun with the Ebay ones once I get mine back.

When all is said and done, I am hoping to be able to switch looks of my car depending on how I feel for that season ( black/white or chrome/white )

  6. Ended up ordering MGR caliper covers. They are actually bit bigger than I had imaged but they look pretty decent.

Much better than the camo ones:)

In other news, I watched Cellbine's bumper and light videos and managed to remove my bumper, remove both lights, install two temporary lights, and reinstall the bumper in a little over an hour. This was completely solo. Great videos Cellbine, huge help.

Hopefully by the end of this next week, I will be installing my new lights and new grill.

  7. I just replaced my HID OEM bulbs(4300k and replaced with 5000k) this week. It took a good 45 minutes to get the first one changed and then took all of 2 minutes for the second one. Most people say remove the bumper then light to get at the bulb better but this is what I did:

    1) remove the back of the headlight to get to the bulb ( its a black circle about 5 inches in diameter, you can turn it either clock-wise or counter clock-wise

    2) Use a pair of needle nose pliers and wiggle the wiring( the wiring just below the bulb and attaches the bulb to the ballast ) back and forth while applying pressure downwards. This should come apart rather quickly if enough pressure is applied

    3) Now remove the bulb which is currently in the housing - I can't remember which direction for this but it was easy enough to figure out

    4) place the new bulb in and twist it accordingly

    5) place the wiring back on the bulb, using the needle nose pliers and upwards pressure - mine went back on pretty easily

    6) twist the back cover on

It takes a bit of patience but once you figure out the first one the next one is extremely simple. Wish I had taken pictures!

    Good luck.

  8. Added the following this week

    1) replaced front turn signals with switchbacks white/amber

    2) replaced OEm 4300k HIDs with 5000ks

    3) painted calipers black using the G2 system

Front lighting looks pretty sharp now when you combine the above two changes with the DRLs. I've also spoken to Whiteis33 and he will be receiving my headlights Monday to customize.

I ordered some decals for the calipers but I think painting them black was a pretty bad decision, they simply blend in too much. I am going to see what the white Ford Edge decals look like before repainting. I didn't want to paint them white or red because I felt like it would stick out a bit too much but black simply blends in too much. What have you guys done in regards to painting or covers and what colors?

Next week, I should have my grill back from the paint shop, Tuxedo Black and I will hopefully be able to install that with the new headlights.

  9. I received mine this week and installed them a few days ago. One thing I noticed is that the current lights are not like the older versions. When turn signals are on, they blink in an amber/off pattern instead of the amber/white pattern that many of the videos show. Also, the wiring is quite different from the pamphlet you receive and the DIY install videos on their site.

However, the lights still look awesome. One of the easiest upgrades you can do, the entire thing took me less than an hour and I am not very comfortable around cars:)

  10. I wanted a change from the chrome grill as well...

I ended up buying these http://www.ebay.com/itm/360851826135?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

In New York State we have a program called BOCES which are schools which train High School students in a variety of trades. I ended up taking these up to our local school and they painted them for the price of materials. I had

them painted tuxedo black and clear coated for about 20 bucks.

Most states have similar programs, find one and you should be good to go. It helps them learn a trade and you get a pretty nice discount. I will be installing these next week, pretty excited to see the results...

  11. Auctions are a tricky situation. I believe I got a pretty nice deal but you never know. The nice thing was that I was able to pick exactly what I wanted and with what features and eventually get it. It took about 4-5 weeks of bidding on vehicles but the guy got me exactly what I wanted. I think I ended up paying about 26k for a 2011 Limited AWD with the best package/options with 31k miles. This was almost a year ago now.

Most of the dealerships I walked into were asking way more than that for Edges which were far less complete. Every week, I would get a list of vehicles, rate them from 1-5 in order of desire, I would set a max price, and my guy would bid on them accordingly.
