  1. I have a 2014 white sport which came with really nice 22's. I have had black 18" rims with snow tires on for the last few months (Canada) lol. Changing back to the 22's in 2 days. YAY!!!! The black rims actually look pretty cool though. They are 5 spoke; very similar to Matthew Scott's above.
  2. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11352-fog-lights-anyone/page-3 Check out post #57
  3. I installed the new VLEDS Triton V3 switchbacks yesterday. VLEDS has sorted out the issue with Ford Edge electronics. They are PERFECT; no hyper flash or flickering at all. They run as bright white DRL's with amber signal function (same as DTBL vertical lights). They are super bright, so I set them up to dim if the parking lights are on (either manual switch to parking light or when headlights are on). I'll post some pics and a video soon in a new thread.
  4. I also have Dan's vertical DRL/signal lights and they are great. I'm talking about 3157 switchback bulbs for the signal light housing in the stock headlight assembly. I am seriously considering just going with the VLED Tritons. Seems like a great product. Seems expensive at first glance but considering the quality and longevity, it is likely quite a reasonable price in the long run.
  5. I have a Canadian 2014 Ford Edge with the amber lights being used as DRL's. I have tried installing LED switchback turn signal bulbs with no success. The ones I tried are tower bulbs from Diode Dynamics. I have tried with and without resistors but the bulbs just behave strangely: White flickering, amber never comes on except with hazards. The resistors get extremely hot due to the bright DRL circuit being powered all the time unless headlights are on. I thought the bulbs were defective at first but they have been replaced with the same results. I definitely had the resistors installed correctly. I took them out again because they were so hot to touch. I have read in a few places that there is an issue with the voltage going to the front signals in the 2010+ Edge. VLEDS apparently has had to create an adapter to allow their V3 Tritons to work in this scenario. But they are $160. I am curious if anyone else has had experience with this and which bulbs will work. SPECIFICALLY if the amber DRL is activated. I think I have read EVERY discussion on this forum regarding LED signals and resistors. I really appreciate any help.
  6. I won't be needing mine anymore My Edge is 2014 and the OEM accent lights are in perfect condition.
  7. I found that when the engine is off, the hazard function in these DRL's does NOT work (ie they don't even come on). I assume this is because there is no power going to the control module. No big deal as long as you don't disconnect the front stock signal lights.
  8. Can you please give details of how the battery was taken out? It looks to be a tight squeeze and I'm not even sure how its held in place. Any pics would be great. Thanks.
  9. I think they are specific for the newer model only, 2011-2014.
  10. Check out the new tail lights from Dan. They look awesome!! I'm seriously considering ordering them but I'd like to see a video showing them installed on an Edge.
  11. Metro Ford in Port Coquitlam BC. Your dealer should do it. It's very easy. AND totally legal. They just have to connect a computer and change a setting in the software of your Edge.
  12. Just got my Edge back from the dealer. I had them change the DRL from the headlights to the front signals. Cost $57 and took 20 min. Now I can finally go ahead and install my HID upgrade kit and my Daytime Brightlights DRL Edge 2 kit.
  13. Thanks so much for posting the pics and explanation. Very helpful. By the way, how did you attach the ballasts? I assume 3M 2 sided tape or equivalent. There are some mounting brackets included but yours looks very clean like stock which I prefer.
  14. My HID kit has just arrived. Will be installing them soon. The bulbs in my kit are labelled 9012 so hopefully the return wire is oriented correctly to avoid the shadow problem others have had (with 9006 bulbs). I've read elsewhere that the return wire should be oriented downward so the shadow of it will be up and therefore not in the beam on the road. Norm, did you have to trim the tabs on your 9012 bulbs at all?
  15. My bad. I just looked at the specs. They are indeed 4300k. Acura by the way. I'm truly surprised. To be honest I thought they were 6000k only because they are very bright with just a hint of blue and look similar to a friends lights which are 5000k 35w but mine seem brighter. I always was under the impression that 4300k was just off white, a little yellow? I assumed and made an ass of me. lol Learn something every day.
  16. I just ordered 55w 6000k HID's from http://absolutehid.ca/ford-edge-hid-kit.html. I need really bright for some of the night driving I do. My other car has 6000k HID's as stock and I just love them. Price is good and they contacted me to confirm that I had ordered the correct ballasts for my vehicle. Also, cheap shipping from within Canada so no duty charges. Apparently they are just plug and play with a Canbus ballast which will work with headlights as DRL. But they also throw in a relay harness if you change DRL to parking lights. Thanks Norm for the absolutehid.ca recommendation!
  17. Question about 35w vs 55w deleted. Found the answer in an older thread
  18. So it seems I should go with the HD relay (thanks to TheWizard for clarifying that). Now I have just discovered that Dan is now selling HID upgrade kits as well..... http://drivebright.com/home/shop/hid-headlight-replacement-kit-new/ Decisions, decisions......

  20. Wow! Quite the discussion there. Looks like there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum. Thanks for the responses. Looks like I'll go with the HD relay. Also I might check out the HID kit Norm installed as well before making a final decision, especially if it's a Canadian site and I can avoid international shipping and duty charges.
  21. I'd like to install an HID upgrade kit for my 2014 Edge Sport (Why HID is not an option in the Sport is beyond me, but anyway.....). Likely will go with this: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-systems/morimoto-elite-hid-system-9012.html#.VBiqAfldV8E Not sure if I should get the Canbus or the HD relay as I don't really understand what they do exactly and how they differ. I've tried searching the forums but I haven't found anything that's really clear. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
