Does anyone know what the work schedule is at Oakville? Are they working 24/7 or 24/5?

It's built in Canada and they don't have slaves here. Now working 20/4 and 16/1

Decision was made when I saw the 2011 Sport at the auto show! 305HP EcoBoost, paddle shifters, gorgeous 22" rims, MyTouch, I'm sold!

The Edge does not have an EcoBoost motor, just a regular 3.7liter.

Then why compare the two?

Exactly, why compare the Edge with the bigger 9? Would be like comparing the Flex to the 7, just stupid.

The CX-7 doesn't have the same space.

compare the 7 to the Edge and the 9 to the Flex, like God meant it to be.

Oakville was meant to be a top notch r&d centre for alternate fuel vehicles, but when Anne Stevens quit Ford so did any hope for us to step it up.

If we only need room for 5 we'll take the 'baby'.

I never mentioned E85. I personally agree. That is NOT the way to go. Let s get away from any type of gas. Lets look at 100% electric. It is being done already...screw these BIG oil companies!!! Lets start making American stuff again and keep it all in house.

I don't have the answer. How can we produce all that electricity? Burn a shit load of coal?

I think all Ford cars should be E85 capable.

The only good thing about E85 is lining the pockets of the rich, and corn producers. How do you suggest the E85 gets transported to all the stations? By tractor trailer Cough*cough*? I hope you don't believe most of what you've obviously heard so far. Investigate all views first.

Does anyone recommend a good technique or cleaning solution for the Chrome Clad rims. Everytime I clean them they seem to look dull.

What have you been using to clean them?

They are. I think the other polishes listed above are for all of the OTHER chrome on our Edge's. But it was good to point that fact out again!

There isn't any real chrome on the edge. A regular weekly wash with carwash soap (not dishsoap) will keep everything clean, including any brake dust.

just completed the oil change at 3333 miles. there was alot of metal residue on the plug bolt. the filter was a bitch to take off. other than that it was fearly easy.

Does the plug bolt have a washer? If so, be sure to replace it with a new one.

Is there a wrong tool?

It came with the roof rails which I did not order and they charged me $95 for those.

Take your bill of sale in with you and show them you didn't order the roof rails. You don't have to pay for them, and if they think they can force you to, tell them you are going to purchase a vehicle from a different dealership and walk away.

Can somone please track my Edge?

No, it's not Vista blue.......this new blue is very light......more like a silver/blue color.

The vendor has had someone at the end of flattop in final checking the BAMR for the past 2 months+.

Exactly, but I thought everyone knew that. And yes there are rumours we may go back to 8 hours starting next week. Also rumours body and stock depts wil be going back to 2 shift operation. Rumours, but many like to know anyway.

A few new colors.....a very dark metallic blue, light metallic blue and a new silver. White Chocolate will be available on the Edge.

I think the light blue is called Vista Blue as it is on other Ford products?

I'm a professional musician and probably listen to things with different ears than someone who just wants to rock out to Slayer or listen to talk radio; much love.

Have you tried listening to your MP3 with earphones while in the Edge? You won't get any better than that plus save much money,time,effort. Keep headbanging sister!

Oops. Back in January I didn't know the Edge and Lincoln are different in many aspects. Now that I've seen a few ten thousands I know most of them.

 

It's not often I sit in a vehicle to listen to music anyway, as I was in the MKX to watch a movie. In my own vehicle I either listen for the traffic report on AM or open the windows and listen to the exhaust

To me any extra weight of speakers,body cladding,spoilers or such just slows the car down in the 1/4.

 

I'm talking about the THX system in the MKX. I've never seen one in the Edge but plenty of the Lincolns are ordered with it (14 speakers), where are the nine you are talking about? You couln't get the one in the middle of the dash or the ones in the d-pillars or the tweeters in the doors?

You are correct. The MKX has the 14 speakers. The Edge only has 9 with no middle front speaker,tweeter-mid-range whatever in the front doors, and no speakers in the D pillar.

The THX in the MKX sounds wonderful, especially with the extra sound deadening material.
