  1. One of our other rides. 67 Shelby Eleanor. OK already, I give up. How do I get a biger picture on this post? Help !!!!!
  2. Lex, thank you for bringing that system to our attention. It appears that the "green system" based on the info provided, is a real "cold air "system. From looking at the picture it appears that the unit probably still uses the factory air intake which could, if a case was made, be called ram air sinces it takes air from the outside and at speed that air is forced into the air box. FROM THEIR ADD "GREEN COLD AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM -- Increases Horsepower, Improves Throttle Response, Fuel Mileage, And Provides Better Torque Throughout The Engine's RPM Range, Replaces Inefficient Factory Air Box With A Green Filter High Flow Open Filter And Air Box That Seals To Hood For Cooler Air Charge And Less Restrictive Air Flow, Includes A Custom Molded Oversized OEM Quality Intake Tube With Reinforced Silicon Connectors Where Applicable, Aircraft Stainless Steel Clamps And Hardware" The unit above that started this post is not though, do you not agree? If you don't know where you're going any road will take you there.
  3. Not to be burst any bubbles or be a pain in the butt, but I've been a car guy since the 60's and have modified every vehicle I've ever owned, and I know a great deal about performance. Heck I had a new exhaust system on my Edge a week after I purchased it, but that's another story and another post on this site). (I also drive a 67 shelby clone ragtop that is a real performer.) Although your unit may look nice and definately allows for more air flow, it isn't "ram air". I agree with others and I know that you are drawing in much warmer air than the stock system. (Colder air, more h.p.) Yes it probably sounds louder, but louder isn't more h.p. either. If you inclosed the unit and got air from the grille or from a hood scoop, I'd have to admit that it would be "ram air". I'm in the works planning a functional hood scoop that will give actual ram air and I would like to hook it up to a unit similar to yours. Hope I didn't offend, just wanted to state facts. If you don't know where you're going any road will take you there.
  4. You have to install a kit that is made for the Edge. Check trailer hitch sites on the net. I found one for 42 bucks. It was about a 1 hour job. Be careful pulling the taillights out. (They pull straight back.) I didn't run the "hot" wire under the car as they suggested, but rather under the interior trim along the floor on the drivers side. (Simple that way)Then I pulled the battery out and slid a coathanger through the rubber boot at the firewall to make a hole to bring the hot lead through. All in all it was fairly simple and well worth the 42 bucks. I also bought the hitch from the same company (hidden hitch brand about $128 I think) and that also was straightforward. The longest part of the hitch instalation was fishing the bolts through the frame. If you're fairly good at mechanical work it should be a piece of cake. If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.
  5. I'd say if you get $3,000 for the wheels and tires, you make out. I'm pretty sure that the late model Mustang wheels are a bolt on. I went to "tires dellivered" website where I bought the wheels and tires for my previous F150, and according to their information the Mustang and the Edge wheels have the same bolt pattern and setback. Can I drop my Edge off at your place for a week or so. I'd love a set of 'American" 5 spokes instead of these cheap chromed plastic hub caps. If I had checked them before purchasing, I never would have paid the extra. And you know that the customer service at Ford didn't care. I'm checking out a set of used Mustang wheels locally in another week or so and will let you know. If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.
  6. Sorry, had a duplicate post and I'm new to the forums and can't find out how to delete this.
