I just now bought a 2014 edge limited. I can't speak for what synch does or not. BUT it is profoundly stupid that they don't just use an existing tablet, with all the third party support that we know comes with it, rather than try and fail to reinvent a touch screen wheel they clearly don't understand. The option shouldn't be synch, but apple or android.
