  1. SOLD These LED Tail Lights fit a 2011-2014 Ford Edge. My Ford Edge is going back to Ford under the lemon law. I installed a set of high quality LED tail lights from Drive Bright (formerly Daytime Bright Lights), right after I bought the car. I don’t want these beautiful lights going to Ford, so I am selling them. The lights retail new for almost $300 per pair. My nicely cared for used lights can be yours for $150, plus shipping. These are the standard non-smoked lights. They do not include the optional reverse and turn signal LED bulbs. I guarantee these lights to operate or I will gladly refund your money.
  2. Thanks. I'm embarrassed to ask, but what is the component in the photo, and where is it located? BTW, according to the paperwork from Ford, the fault code for my issue is P188B.
  3. Interesting, thank for the info. I have the car back now from Ford. Can you tell me what the PTU temp sensor & cable looks like?
  4. The warning light is the wrench light telling me to check the AWD system. My Edge has been at the Ford dealer for 9 days now and they still can't figure out the cause. The light was on when I dropped it off and they were able to retrieve a code, but they have hit some sort of dead end. Frankly I don't have much faith in them. My service advisor claims they have done all of the diagnostics that they can do, they have submitted the issue to Ford engineers. I'll be picking my car up today, I plan on contacting Ford directly. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.
  5. I own a 2014 Edge with AWD. I bought it new in 2015. I have had an intermittently problem for the last two years. Every now and then the amber wrench light will illuminate on the dash, indicating a problem with the AWD system. I’ve never noticed any type of system malfunction, only the warning light. Our local Ford dealer has looked at it time and again, but they can not figure out the cause of the warning light. They claim the drivetrain checks out ok. They submitted the issue to Ford, but Ford isn’t aware of any issues. I’d like to get this taken care of while my drivetrain warranty is still in effect. Has anyone here with an AWD Edge had this issue? Thanks.
  6. In my search to find a nice cargo security screen that’s better than the junk that Ford sells, I came across this one that ships from China. Anybody have one of these? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-quality-Rear-Cargo-privacy-Cover-Trunk-Screen-for-audi-Q5-2009-2010-2011-2012-2013/2047474073.html
  7. Ok thanks. Is there a trick to removing the lens cover?
  8. Has anyone attempted to replace the OE vanity mirror light bulbs with LED’s? I’m not sure if the lens cap can be easily removed and Dan of Drive Bright doesn’t stock LED’s for them. My wife has a habit of leaving the mirror open, which of course leaves the light on. She killed two batteries in our last car before I replaced the lights with LED’s. No dead batteries after that.
  9. Dan, Thanks again for being such a stand up guy. I wish all merchants treated their customers the way you do. Craig
  10. Pics below. I took my Edge for a drive last night to test the HID's....what an amazing difference! No trick at all to installing the HID’s. Dan’s video is a huge help. I was able to install them without removing the air intake as Dan suggested. Since I didn’t experience any voltage fluctuations or flickering of the HID bulbs, I didn’t need to install the optional battery harness. It was pretty much plug and play, with the exception of the OE bulb dust cover modification. I did discover a problem however. When the headlights are on, the turn signals develop a hyper flash. This only happens when the headlights are on for some strange reason. Doing a search in the forum, I found others that have experienced the same issue. I called Dan, he says this only happens to about 10% of his Edge customers. Of course I would be one of them! Dan is going to send me a free set of resistors that should fix the problem. Until then, replacing the front signal LED’s with the OE bulbs is a temporary fix
  11. Well I finally finished all of my Daytime Bright Light mods. I guess you could say I went a little crazy, I installed the LED DRL's, the LED puddle lights, the LED tail lights and the HID headlights. I also replaced the front and rear turn signals as well as the backup lights with LED's. Dan's LED's replacement bulbs are the highest quality I've ever seen. I plan on buying more to outfit my Toyota Tacoma. Dan said he can get me any size light I need. As noted in an earlier thread, I had issues with the fitment of the original set of puddle lights Dan sent me. The newly designed puddle lights he subsequently sent did the trick. The HID's were very easy to install thanks to Dan's awesome installation video. My install was even easier than the video, as I did it without removing the air intake. I was also lucky in that the HID return wire was in the correct position on my first attempt - no side shadows. The LED tail lights were a piece of cake, took me about 15 minutes. I spent some cash on these mods, but I absolutely LOVE the results. I plan on replacing the dome/map lights next, then I'm done!
  12. Darn, I was afraid of that. I always thought the Edge's chrome wheels looked nice. The day after I picked up our new Edge, I realized they are not chrome wheels at all, but plastic wheel covers. I'm in the middle of doing all of the LED & HID light upgrades from Drive Bright. When I'm done, I'll try and convince my wife to let me buy some new wheels. It's actually her car, so I gotta keep her in the loop, especially since I ordered all of the light mods without her knowledge, LOL!
  13. I assume you're referring to me so I should resent your remark, but it's just an unsubstantiated remark from another "random person" on the Internet. I sincerely regret my decision to try and warn people of this forum about Sunrise Ford’s customer service. There apparently are some forum members that are ready to pounce on others simply because they would have approached the situation differently. I should have realized those people don't need warnings - they know it all already. For the rest of you, I would be remiss if I did not post the results of my final resolution with Sunrise Ford. I wrote a letter to Ford Customer Relations in Michigan. They did not bother to reply. This was disappointing, so I decided to turn to the Better Business Bureau. Although Sunrise Ford has had many BBB complaints, they enjoy an A+ BBB rating for resolving their BBB complaints. I filed a BBB complaint hoping they would continue with that trend. Thanks to my BBB complaint, Sunrise Ford ultimately offered to refund my credit card for the ESP purchase, something they initially claimed was impossible to do. They of course deducted the shortage of my payoff, but I'm ok with that at this point. I wasn't out to rip anyone off, I just felt I was treated unfairly and I wasn't going away without a fight. Feel free to visit the BBB website if some of you feel this is a random post with no merit. My complaint is public record. I am glad it is all behind me now, as I love my new Edge. This will be my final post on this topic.
  14. Yeah, the lights he sent me are totally different, as you can see. I'm sure the revised lights he sends me will work better. I seem to be having a real run of bad luck lately. Everything from the purchase of my new Edge to the puddle lights. Well you can now add the Drive Bright DRL's to that list. I followed Dave's step by step installation video via my iPad as I installed the DRL's this morning. I finally got to the exciting moment when I reconnected the battery and tested everything, and...............no DRL's. I tested all of my connections and found that I had power going into the DRL controller box, but none coming out. If I knocked on the box the lights would flicker, but that was it. I called Dave and he had me do a couple of tests as well, but in the end, it seems I have a bad controller box. Go figure... Dave was very apologetic again and has a new box on it's way out to me already. As said, a real stand up guy.
  15. UPDATE: I received an email reply from Dan of Drive Bright. He said this is a new puddle light for him and he admits there have been some fitment issues. He is currently changing the design to move the electrical contacts to the side and is improving the locking tab, both of which I had problems with. He said the new light will be ready in about 10 days. He was very apologetic and asked if I would mind waiting for the new light. He seems to be a stand up guy, so I don’t mind the wait. Now I can turn my attention to installing the DRL’s...
  16. Please don’t take this the wrong way folks, but there’s a reason my initial post was somewhat vague. I knew there would be people that would say this was my fault, I was unprepared or I should have done my home work. I am 50 years old, I have bought my share of cars over the years. This wasn’t my first rodeo. I posted this thread only to warn the kind members of this forum, nothing more. Please feel free to accept my warning or disregard it, it’s clearly your choice, but I don’t wish to debate the merits of my complaint. As I said, I’m sure there are good people working at Sunrise Ford, I just didn’t have the benefit of dealing with them. I hope Sunrise Ford comes to their senses and at least attempts to make things right. Regardless, I’m ready to move on and enjoy my new car
  17. Perhaps it's because I told them to handle the transaction one way and they did it another way that has me upset. They obviously did it that way so that it would be unfavorable for a customer to cancel an ESP. This was exactly the reason I put it on my card.
  18. That would be a wrong assumption. I knew what I wanted to pay, what I wanted my payments to be at, the length of the loan and I knew what I wanted for my trade-in. The only exact figure I didn't have was my trade-in payoff, but I was very close. This post is regarding Sunrise Ford in Fontana, not Hollywood. I was told they are owned by the same people For starters, when I called and told the sales manager that I was looking for a 2015 Titanium or a 2014 Limited, I was told they had plenty of both. He told me they had ten 2015 models and over one hundred 2014's in stock. This was just to lure me in. They actually had only two 2015's (neither a Titanium), and around fifty 2014's (only two of those were Limited models). Lie #1. Shame on me, I should have left right there and then. After agreeing to a deal on a 2014, my payment amount changed from the sales manager's handshake to my sit-down with the finance manager. Lie #2. I told the sales manager the payoff of my trade-in was between $12K and $12.5K. He wrote down the lesser of the two figures, so when my payoff of $12,597 was obtained two days later, I was told I was responsible for the difference. I had the finance manager charge my credit card for my Ford ESP purchase, so that I could cancel it later if I decided to. When I was told that I must now cover the payoff shortage, I told the sales manager to cancel my ESP and refund my credit card. I would then pay them from the refund. I was then informed that my ESP purchase was worked into the financing and that my credit card charge was treated as a down payment. This meant that any refund would come off at the end of my car loan - I would get no immediate refund. This really angered me. This was the very reason I gave them my credit card in the first place! I am sure there are good honest people at Sunrise Ford, I just didn't have the benefit of dealing with any of them. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I have filed a dispute with MasterCard for the ESP charge.
  19. I attempted to install the lights as per the instructions....no more, no less. The messy white stuff you see is silicone. There was a lot of it on the electrical contacts as well. So much so, that I was afraid it would prohibit a solid connection, so I had to scrape it off of the contacts. Although I was disappointed in the quality appearance of the fixture, my main concern is the locking tabs and the position of the electrical contacts. They are not the same as the OE light fixture, which I assume is the reason it won't snap/lock into place.
  20. I need some help guys. The Drive Bright puddle lights and DRL’s that I ordered for my 2014 Edge just arrived. I started on the easiest install first, the puddle lights. I watched Drive Bright's installation video and it looked like a piece of cake. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. The puddle lights that I received look very different from the puddle lights shown in the installation video. The wiring pins of the OE fixtures are on the sides of the fixture, but the Drive Bright pins are on the top. This seems to prevent them from going up into the mirror correctly. The locking tabs are also different. The OE locking tabs are higher up on the fixture than the one’s from Drive Bright. The Drive Bright lights will not snap into place. They fall out as soon as the door is closed. I looked at the box the lights came in and it does indeed show that it fits my Edge, but something is very wrong. I sent an email to Dan the owner, so I will wait and see what he says. In the meantime, has anybody else had this issue with Drive Bright puddle lights? Am I doing something wrong? 21. Just a warning to fellow forum members who may live in the Southern California area. I just purchased a new 2014 Ford Edge from Sunrise Ford in Fontana, California. This was by far the most horrible car buying experience I have ever endured. It was so bad that I am currently speaking with legal counsel regarding my options. Although I love my new Edge, Sunrise Ford is appalling. The sales manager that I dealt with lied to my face about my trade-in value as well as my payments. This behavior carried over to the finance department where I was lied to about the manner in which I purchased the Ford extended service plan. If you live in the area and a new or used Ford is in your future, please save yourself the heartache and shop elsewhere.
  22. Thanks for the replies and the photos. I do plan on doing the HID upgrade as well. Have any of you that have the LED DRL's found the front turn signal profile to be too much? I am wondering if the stock turn signals, mirror head signals and DriveBright's LED signals might look like a semi truck coming down the road whenever I hit my turn signals. I am considering disconnecting the factory turn signals as depicted in the DriveBright video, but I will wait and see how it all looks. Thought? Comments?
  23. Ok thanks. I went ahead and ordered the Puddle Light/DRL package. I normally don’t like ordering from an online vendor that doesn’t respond to inquiries, but the recommendations from members of the forum means a great deal, so I feel confident with my order. Hopefully I’ll get a phone number along with my order. Thanks guys!
  24. Finally found it on page 325
