  1. It's Fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally - there are no issues with my vehicle now.

I was in St. Andrews Scotland for a week and left the Edge with Ford to sort out - came back and it was fixed!

The annoying noise is gone. Turns out that the tech used a lithium lubricant on the CV boot and joints and not the silicone lubricant that he should have used. This time they replicated the noise, sprayed the silicone lub and now its perfect.

Hopefully those that have the same issue can not get their fixed too.

  2. Hey all, just received a call from the dealership - said that they just heard back from Ford. The issue (ford says) is caused by moisture underneath the rubber boot covering the cvt joint. They instructed my dealership that at my 10k service they are to spray it with a synthetic lubricant - apparently that should sort it out. According to them this isn't a safety issue.

I'll update as to what the outcome is - I'm scheduled to go to the shop on the 11th of august.

  3. I was going to post about this same issue tonight. On a few occassions as you said after I have driven for a while and then turn right or left I hear a rubbing/almost squealing noise. I am going to call the dealership this week. It does sound like some sort of stearing issue to me. - 2015 Titanium AWD ~1500 miles.

That is exactly it! Rubbing/squeaking noise.

For those with the issue, what wheels and tires do you have?

As for my tires - 245/50R20 Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2

  4. Hey guys - so I have encountered by first issue with my edge (2015 Titanium).

There is a rubbing noise when I turn either way when driving, but this only happens after I have driven on the highway for more then 30mins.... so something is heating up and causing the issue.

Took off the wheels to see if I can see anything and there aren't any rub marks. Took it to my Ford dealer and they inspected and failed to come up with anything - only thing they noted was a brake clip was loose. They said they were not able to replicate the noise. I told them that its after a long period of driving, so not sure if they even drove it for that long.

In any case, coming home from work (taking the highway) the noise started again so I drove right in the bay and told the mechanic there to listen....he heard it. Dropped to his knees and inspected - said that it was the rubber boot making the noise - but said they can't fix it until they talk to Ford. WTF? Service Manager came and said that Ford is very anal about the 2015 Edge's and that they have to file a letter with the Ford and wait for a response within 5 business days. That is the directives they got and have to follow protocol.

Anyone else experience the same noise or same story from their dealer?

  5. I have noticed the wind noise as well - however I hear it from the driver's side window. I had to double check a couple times to make sure the window was all the way up. Was reading reviews about the '15 Edge and came across a review that said that they experienced the wind noise too and that it was a result of the winds path over the side view mirrors.

  6. Just reading this post and it made me think about searching for my vehicle since it was a Titanium built in Oakville too.

The etis for mine shows a build date of April 30, 2015 and luckily for me no Outstanding Field Service Actions - No Campaign Message(s) found. So I just passed the April 28th cut-off. Now we have a "torrential rainfall warning and risk of tornado" my edge is sitting outside and will be for the next 5 hours while the rain comes down....lets see is there is a surprise waiting for me.

  7.

Yes this is the obvious solution. But I need facts before I make any decision. Magnetic provided that fact and I'm about to go meat the dealer any minute now.

I should have monitored Ford's production dates (and other production news) more closely but I did not. I relied on someone else and now I don't have what I want.

Thanks everyone for helping I will not waste any more time. It's been a week already.

    Etienne.

    Hi Etienne,

What was the outcome? Did you end up getting in touch with the dealer?

I am new to this forum, having stumbled upon it out of frustration waiting for the Edge that I ordered in February to arrive! All of the info has been quite helpful, however I still have not figured out what the delay to my vehicle is. It was built in March and is apparently waiting shipping. I have contacted Ford Canada customer service and have had a terrible experience. No one seems willing to get me information and just keeps blaming the Dealership. My dealer doesn't seem to be able to get any more info other than the fact that it is sitting waiting for delivery. All I want to know is when I can expect this vehicle! I have been waiting 16 weeks from the time the dealer ordered it (inactually ordered it 4 weeks before that but they forgot to place the order).

I am seriously considering walking away and waiting for the 2016's.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey Cheeky,

I'm in Canada too - Toronto - which dealership have you ordered from?

  8. I wonder if that hitch would work with the Sport models.

Well what do you know - Just looked at the etrailer.com site and pulled up the hitches for the 2015 Edge.

Three of them say "Excluding Sport" but one of them just says Sport!

    http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2015_Ford_Edge.htm

The third one down - Curt Class III Hitch Receiver C13224

    http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Ford/Edge/2015/C13224.html?vehicleid=201533607

It could just be a typo on their site...but its worth a look for those that want to inquire.

"....I wish those nicer rims came in the standard 19" tire size."

Yes, I have to say it was worth the $500 extra to get the 20" rims. Aftermarket would have worked but would have been costly.

Congrat's on the new ride :). Just got mine a week ago. I split my time between NS and Toronto - might see you on the road sometime lol. Enjoy :)

Where abouts in Toronto - city center or the GTA?

  9. Thanks all. Loving the vehicle.

I just got the hitch installed yesterday - went with an aftermarket Class III hitch - I negotiated with Ford when I purchased the vehicle that I select the hitch for them to install - and surprisingly they listened. I read reviews (and heard from the sales guys) that the factory installed hitch obstructs the hand free liftgate and also requires the cutting into the bumper - the Curt Class III allows the handsfree liftgate to work and also sits under the bumper which requires no cutting.

Here are some of the pictures of the install. Don't pay too much mind to the old tongue and ball.

  10. Hi All,

I have a 2015 Titanium and didn't get the ford factory hitch - but had ford install a Class III aftermarket hitch for me (included in the negotiation of the sale of the car).

The hitch that was installed was the 13224 Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver

The aftermarket hitch sits below the bumper and doesn't require you to cut into it. I can confirm that the hands free liftgate works flawlessly with the aftermarket hitch. I located the liftgate sensor, it is dead center underneath the bumper - just on top of the hitch receiver. (You can see the cutout in the second picture.) Kicking to the left or the right of the sensor triggers the liftgate to open.

    Cheers,

    Conrad

  11. Hey Everyone - I'm new to the forum. Just picked up my Edge on the weekend. Loving it!

Driven it around a couple days and I have had people stop to ask me about it - Love that feeling.

I got it in Tuxedo Black Metallic with the upgraded 20" Aluminum Wheels, 301A package, 3.5L V6, and the Canadian Touring Package.

I'm in Toronto, Ontario - have only seen a handful of 2015's on the road - and only one other Titanium.

    Cheers,

    Conrad
