  1. I have a similar yet different problem I am looking for help with. Last week when driving on dry road (not icy or snow covereg) when turning 90 degrees (left or right..doesn't matter) from a stop and accelerating firmly but not aggressively, I would hear a knocking sound form what sounded like the center of the vehicle. Taking off in a straight line did not reproduce this sound, it only occured when turning and not when driving a curve in the road, only from a stop or very slow speed and accelerating while turning. This happened for a couple of days then later the 2nd day...it snowed and I went to show a friend of mine what was happening and I couldn't get it to reproduce it. I have a schedule appointment for it to get looked at this week, but it hasn't done it since. I'm going to keep my appoitment and hope they find something but I'm not going to hold my breath. Just for those who might think it....I had no wheel snots (chuncks of snow on the mud flaps) I regularly clean these off. Any ideas? Do you think that TSB 07-11-14 would fix this?
  2. I got my '07 Edge in April '07 and after a few months of owning my new vehicle I had a similar issue. I openened the vista roof for my drive in to work to enjoy the beautiful morning air and sun. When I got to work, the roof would close 80% of the way then stop. If I pressed the button again, nothing would happen, then it wouldn't open again. I tried for a bit but was afraid to burn something out so I drove it directly to the dealership for repair. Within 1 hour, I got a call stating that it was fixed. It ended up being a lack of lubrication (or at least that's what they told me). They lubed up both sides of the track and all was good. Seems like this was overlooked at the factory. It's been fine since then...and I use my Vista roof regularly during the warm months. Hope this helps someone else.

  4. I would HIGHLY recommend you NOT try this!!! My boss did this after hearing about it etc... He went up to Norhtern Ontario (Canada) to go Caribou hunting and his truck (which is maintained to the highest levels) broke down. It ended up being a dead fuel pump which was apparantly full of black stuff. We suspect that it was sediment from disintergrated rubber gaskets etc... By the time he got his truck towed out of the bush and to a dealership, then paid someone to go get his truck....his hunting trip cost him a small fortune and that ended his use of acetone in vehicles. Thought I would pass this along.
  5. Mine just cut out today...Oct 1st! Boy am I pissed! No notice or anything, just all of a sudden BAM! I know that I got more than what was advertised but the end result is that some form of notification should be common sense. Simply turning off an account is unacceptable in my opinion.
  6. I've had my Edge since March of '07 and my Sirius is still running. I have not paid a dime to renew or anything yet. That's 18 months "free" so far. Can't say I'm complaining! I know they will eventually catch on to this, but until then, I will keep listening.
  7. Has anyone tried to make a working image of the NAV disk? I've seen some posted but none for our region. Just curious. I find it quite steep in price seeing we already paid a fair price for the system, but now they will release new maps every couple of months and charge us $150 per update.
  8. Well, here is my update! I got a call a couple of hours after dropping off my Edge and it was fixed. The shuttle service picked me up right away and all before lunch I was back driving my Edge with a FULLY functional Vista roof! So what did you guys do? I asked the service guy. The short of the long is that there was barely none OR no lubrication in the track. They simply lubbed up the track to my Vista roof and all is fine. I tested the roof after getting the keys and the nasty noise it was making was gone and the roof closed properly without much effort. Seeing I ordered my Edge in February and got it in March, I figure it was in the height of demand and that may have been overlooked. I will keep an eye on it though and I will continue to use it as much as I was previously. But all looks good as of now. I must state that the dealership handled this EXTREMELY well and made me very happy today.
  9. So, I've got about 3300Kms on my New Redfire Metallic SEL Plus fully loaded Edge and LOVING IT! I've used the BAMR roof many times now and today disaster strikes. I pull into work, park my Edge and go to close the Vista roof and it gets to about 90% closed....squeaks likes a S-O-B and refuses to close. Tried opening it the WHOLE way and then close it, still the same result. I tried several times and still no go. To me, it sounds almost like it's binding on the passenger side. So I drove it directly to my dealer. Now here is the kicker, my wife is pregnant for our 1st child, the Edge is the only vehicle we own that we can fit a car seat in. Her due date was Monday, and if she doesn't pop the sucker out by this weekend, they will induce her. So I told my dealership that I cannot be without a vehicle this weekend whatsoever. So they put a rush on my service order, and they will try to fix it today. If they can't, they said that they will try to at least close it so I can get it back today and then wait for the parts to come in. Although this situation sucks, I am pretty happy so far with the treatment I have received. I know nothing more at the moment, but will gladly post the outcome of this for all to read, just in case someone else runs into this. All in all.....I still LOVE my Edge to death! It simply rocks! Regardless of what some people whine about, this is an awesome ride!
  10. Damn skippy! You hit that nail on the head!
  11. This weekend 3 buddies and I went on a road trip to catch a Toronto FC game. I programmed some POI's into the Nav and off we were. On the way I said outloud to the boys, I need a name for the NAV. One promptly replied "BITCH....call her BITCH" That was if she get's it wrong or gets you lost you can smack that Bitch up! We had fun Thanking Bitch all day long. I called my wife to tell her that the Bitch got us to our location with no problems.....she was confused at first then had a good laugh. Bitch is my new friend! *This is not intended to be offensive to anyone....it is simply MY Nav system that we are calling a Bitch
  12. Mine came with the 4p disk and the warning screen stays up until you accept. That aspect didn't change. As far as the other question you had, I can't answer that seeing I've only used the 4P disk that came with mine.
  13. Been driving my Redfire Edge for a little over 1 month now. LOVING IT!!! I think my wife has driven it 2 or 3 times.....she can't get me out of the driver's seat! I love all my options!! BAMR, NAV, LEATHER, MEMORY SEATS and TOWING PACAKGE.
  14. I ordered my Edge from my dealer 1 month ago, it went to production last week and I am picking up my Edge tomorrow!!!! So I would have to say that shipping etc.... has been ALL figured out!
  15. Thanks Tameejean and Houdkeeper! THere's been so much talk of the Blue gauges but no one to back it up or not. My Edge should be in either Next week or the week after. Can't wait.
