NYEdge: That is awesome!! I recently got rid of my Edge (it was a lemon!) but I had just put a switch on the VSS wire and hit it whenever I wanted to change an address. I would have done this if I had know about it! After AKirby tried to ruin this thread by pretending to be the forum police I had stopped paying attention to it. Good to see someone help out!! Keep up the good work!

I followed the instructions here and got the items off of Ebay for pretty cheap. I added a basket to the cross bars for camping stuff and it works excellent. Taken it on several hundred mile trips with no issues. Wanted to say thanks alot!! Keep up the good posts!!

I did the update and it only took about 2 minutes to get the second Installation complete. I left it in and about 20 mins later had not heard anything else so I rebooted. Everything worked fine. It was very easy to do. I uploaded the files without issue also. Don't notice any difference my Blackberry still doesn't do texts or the ringers but it does work as a phone fine.

Welcome!! I like the grill, interested in seeing how it works out. Also I am curious what you have on order and where from? I am looking to do a little to mine and I like the clean lines also. I went with the Dark Blue which has trouble staying clean too! Look forward to what updates you do.

Quick questions: The old man has the 2008 Buick Enclave and it is a very nice vehicle. He was told he has the same transmission as in my Edge. They had to do an update to his and now it works alot better then mine. Also his has a button to shift between any gear manually. So my questions: -Is there an update for the Edge to make it shift like the Buick? -Can we mod ours to manually shift between the gears?

Update for Sync I dont see the actual update on the web site and today is the 8th, maybe later today. I did get the Sync Status Checker to work. Took awhile. I had to format the USB drive in FAT, I then had to restart internet explorer, Then it installed on the drive. I plugged it in to the USB port and started the car and nothing happened. I then messed around and noticed there is an install option when in the USB screen. That worked. I then restarted Internet explorer again and got the file to upload. What a pain.

Very true!! Does the unit weigh alot? Hadn't thought that part through. Adding up quickly!! Still have to buy a camera as well as this. I already have a car PC so I was thinking it wouldn't be too bad... now I wonder.

I am also interested in the back up camera for the Factory Nav Unit. Reading through the forums I found a link to an interface that works with the Ford Edge. The web site says to call for pricing, so I did. It is 250.00 for a two input (1 camera and 1 other .. DVD, computer, etc.) and you have to send the unit to them and pay 75.00 for the upgrade. (325 total) They stated they had a 1 day turn around. Sounded like they knew what they were doing on the phone. Also of note: The NAV unit is touch screen but when you update it you don't get to use the touch screen for a computer. If I had known that I would have done that!! Love the 0% loan!! So I am debating on doing it and will probably wait until I save up a bit of money. I will post how it goes. The site itself works fine, I am having that screen when I put in my VIN number and click Next. It sits there for awhile and then I get the error screen. Oh well, have to try another day.

I have been reading away online and over at ford-trucks.com BeerStalker had a good post about disabling to VSS wire as needed. One of the links went to a PDF with a pinout on the back of the unit and a few other links talked about installing a switch. Has anyone got the unit to work completely while the vehicle is moving? Wondering if there is a better way or if this is a good way? Just got my edge Wednesday and I was trying to create an account on syncmyride.com and repeatedly got this screen.

Just read through this forum and I wanted to reply about the USB problem. Check if your USB drive is running encryption and check to see if it is formatted in Fat32. The vehicle won't be able to read the drive if it is encrypted or formatted in NTFS instead of Fat32. Also possibly try a different thumb drive. Some only work in Windows XP/ Vista, maybe that is the issue. Just my $.02

Mine has 101 miles now. Got it Wednesday night with 23 miles.

Just wanted to say hi!! I just got home with my new Ford Edge Limited AWD and love it so far!! Of course I am looking to see if there are posts to fix the Nav system to be more user friendly.
