  1. Me too, just ordered the latest, my current is the pitifully old 4P.
  2. Well, now I'm @ 1500 miles and still only 13.8mpg on the Edge. I pretty much drive 95% city, almost never need to get on freeway. Where's the 18mpg? I'm even trying those "hypermilage" tricks but it still sucks gas. Should have the dealer check?
  3. Dunno really, I appreciate the beauty and design of a great many other vehicles, but within our class, I do prefer the Edge over all others in it. To me, that Toyota looks to be "more of the same" as everyone else. A little too homogenized. Cheers.
  4. The blueovalforums.com site is down, anyone know what's goin' on over there?
  5. Wow thanks for all the input folks, gotta love this forum. While just switching the Info Center to something else does work ;-) I am just too curious to know what my MPG actually is to just put blinders on. I am going on a trip to Palm Springs in about a month, so I'll finally get some good freeway miles on it, to see if it evens out a bit. Thx again everyone.
  6. But... but... c'mon it's a Mazda, it's ugly and it's mama dresses it funny! It really comes down to which one you like to look at the most! Sure the Edge is not perfect (well... mine is) but to me, the 9 seems to be all facade and formula. Looks kinda common, just like all the other asian manufactured CUV/SUV 's out there. Visually, side by side, the edge looks far more striking, it stands out more. It has a more aggressive stance, it really does ride the "edge" between being more truck/SUV like and car/CUV like. The others seem to just a watered down SUV, or a beefed up car.
  7. Well... unfortunately I do not have a comparo... new job new car. Only drove this route in old car for about two weeks before trading it in on the Edge. Still... it is only 1 tank of gas every two weeks... so I am happy with that, but that little green number on the dash just bugs me so much. :yup:
  8. Ok, so I bought an 07 SEL FWD 18" in April 08. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. The car had 50 freakin miles on it when I got it. It must have been fully updated with all the TSBs, and fixes or what ever because it is so far perfect in every way possible. Not one of the issues discussed here on this forum or anywhere else. Performace is great, no bad smells, chipping paint, wierd noises or leaks. Now... having said that, after one month, I only have 390 miles on it, I have just started my 3rd tank of gas (c'mon! I only drive 13 miles/day) and reset the MPG setting each time, but the MOST I have ever gotten has been 11.9MPG. That just seems a little too low. All my driving has been city streets. So far no freeway at all. Does that mileage seem right? I've read here on this board that it will get better, but no-one seems to have this low number. Cheers CPPREDG
  9. I followed that link to the Cx7 forum, and went to the "Issues & Problems" Threads, and there seems to be (unscientifically verified) a lot more and a lot more varied issues with the CX7 than the Edge. We seem to have fewer and fewer variety of issue with the Edge. At least as reported on the two respective sites. Has there been any survey data put out yet as to the reliability of the 07 CUV's yet?
  10. Just ordered mine today because of this topic!! I went looking at the CA DMV site and couldn't beleive they had it avaliable... "CPPREDG" Perfect! I should get them in about a dozen weeks or so...
  11. I have the 07 with DVD NAV and no BAMR, so they must not lock you into that config. It might just be that they missed it online.
  12. Oh nooo! Don't say that! Actually after VERY close examination (so close I had to put my glasses on!) I found a tiny paint blemish on the nose. No larger than a pin head. But aside from that the car IS currently FLAWLESS! No matter what anyone says. No drivetrain issues no wierd noises etc. I am wondering if it's because it's an '07 and so has been sitting at the dealer for a little while. They may have resolved any known issues during the months it was jus sitting on their lot getting dirty. (BTW it was really dirty!, They had to clean it for me at the dealer, and even the cleaning guy commented on how dirty it was!) Now... that being said my CopperEdge does only have 50 miles on it! (that is sooooo cool) so I'm sure as I drive it more I will notice any issues MAY come up. I'm just hoping nothing will. I ran my '95 Explorer to 150,000 miles without one single major issue. I got it when it was 2 years old and it was fantastic almost the whole time. just a couple of minor age relaed repair over time but that was about it. It made the ultimate sacrifice and was traded in on the Edge, I plan on keeping this baby for 150,000 miles as well! I truely feel bad for you Lex, and for everyone who got a poorly finished and QA'd unit. That would tear my heart out to get home and start seeing problems everywhere. Anyway thanks to Ford again for making such a great car and thanks for getting mine right, I really wish everyone got one as well put together as mine though... that's all.
  13. ... zero defects. I am very impressed at the level of finish on my SEL. Inside and out, not one single blemish, loose fitting, wierd overhang, scratch, peeling paint or underspray. Mechanically, the engine is so far flawless, no leaks yet, no weird alignment issues, gear slippage/droppage either. Did I just get very lucky or is this the norm?
  14. Love this car! Got that awsome Copper color SEL NAV, leather, kitchen sink etc. Only thing couldn't find was with AWD but no big deal, it's not really for "off road" is it? It's more for bad weather right? I'm in So Cal so there's not much of that here anyway! Can't wait to drive some more...
