  1. Dang that sucks. When it happened to me (I had 1,800 miles on odometer) it only said "Power Accessory Drive", no wrench icon came on or any of those other warnings you had. I've put in about 1,000 miles on it and haven't had a problem since they did the "calibration update".....knock on wood

Hopefully they lemon your car and give you a 2016 with Sync 3 :)

  2. Tools and material used:

    Used to hold the ballast

    aQ8U5l3m.jpg

Used to hold the cable that will run towards the passenger side, will be mounted on the firewall.

I'd rather use screws but will see how these hold up

    • Screwdriver
    • 8mm socket: for battery hold down and to move coolant reservoir tank
    • 10mm socket for battery terminal
    • 11mm socket for the ground on the frame
    • small zip ties

5500k 50w bulbs. There's a slight incline where the gravel meets the road. image looks pretty close to what it actual looked like.

Nothing behind that plastic piece so it was a good place to attach the relay box and ballast.

Power is attached directly to the battery, the cable is hidden by the red plastic cover.

    Driver side

This cable powers the passenger side ballast. I used plastic mounting pads hopefully the adhesive lasts if not will have to use screws to hold the cable in place.

    Same cable

    keep going...

Hooray, we made it to the passenger side. The cable barely made it there, had me worried.

    Summary:

After 30 minutes of night time driving I think the 50w HID ballast is a tad too bright and should have opted for the 35w ballast. The projectors' cutoff is excellent and I don't think I'll be blinding drivers.

  4. I posted this in an another thread and will post it here too...

Vehicle Information: 2015 Ford Edge SEL 3.5

When mine did this I was approaching a 4 way stop while lightly tapping on my brakes then the engine just shut down and this message popped up "Full Accessory Power Active"?!

    W0tscVAl.jpg

Note: I didn't take a picture at the time of the incident, I took this image while the car was in the driveway. To get this message you press the Engine Start/Stop button (Accessory Mode)

Went the following day to the dealer and they performed a "Calibration Update"

    ZbBdDL1l.jpg?1

This whole thing is stupid and I hope the update they performed really fixes this crap.

Also please file a complaint with the nhtsa if this has happened to you: https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/index.xhtml

Do it before someone gets injured!

  5. Probably needs a PCM calibration or a TB re-design. Glad you were able to get your situation resolved, John, even if it meant a different vehicle.

Woah, that's what mine needed (I hope)

    here's what they did:

The thing is when mine stalled it didn't buckle or hesitate, it turned itself off very smoothly.

  6. what model you have? I thought I read in the manual that there is an Auto Engine on/off it will cause the engine to turn off and once you let go of the break or press it again that it would turn back on.

I have the 3.5 (non ecoboost), this engine does not have auto startstop. It has a feature called "Auto Engine Off" but that turns off the engine when it's been idling for 30 minutes.

If you have Auto StartStop (which I don't) you'll see this

    qlOTXPdl.jpg

I'll start keeping my phone next to me to record if this ever happens again.

  7. Engine: 3.5 non-ecoboost

While I was in stand still traffic for about 20 seconds or so I noticed that the engine turned off. Then it displayed "full accessory drive" in the left screen (where it displays the speed). When I tried to accelerate it did not turn back on. To get the car going I had to shift into park and start the engine via push button.

For now I've disabled auto start-stop, (turns out the 3.5 does not have auto start stop). Anyone else has had this happen to them?

    Update:

Did some searching and found this which is pretty similar to what happened to me.
