  1. Sync Services isn't worth it (https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-technology/myford-touch/sync-services/sync-services-overview.html) When you purchase a new vehicle it comes with one free year of Sync Services Use your phone.
  2. I also have the 3.5 and had that happen to me. After the calibration update it's been fine. I've put in about 1,500 miles since the update and it seems to have solved the problem.
  3. Or maybe it's the update that I received a month ago Haven't had a problem since....knock on wood
  4. Dang that sucks. When it happened to me (I had 1,800 miles on odometer) it only said "Power Accessory Drive", no wrench icon came on or any of those other warnings you had. I've put in about 1,000 miles on it and haven't had a problem since they did the "calibration update".....knock on wood Hopefully they lemon your car and give you a 2016 with Sync 3
  5. I don't think so, they say only unopened stuff can be returned. Oh well..
  6. Blah, I took out the HIDs! 5500k 50w is way too bright and was giving me eye fatigue, I do not recommend the 50w ballast. Also this morning just 25 minutes into my commute one of the HIDs go out, I suspect it's the cable that connects the bulb to the igniter (the other one this time). I went back with Sylvania zXe. What a waste of time, lesson learned.
  7. Ordered some 9006 Extension Cords which add 2 feet of cabling this way I don't have to worry about the cable in the back of the engine near the firewall, now I can just route the cable through the front.
  8. It took me about 1hr 30mins. The 3.5 is such a fatty and takes up so much space under the hood. I imagine with the other engine layouts you can have a couple more inches of breathing room. Yes only low beams. For the high beams (which are also the daytime driving lights) i installed some Sylvania zXes which look a lot nicer than stock ones during the day.
  9. Tools and material used: Used to hold the ballast Used to hold the cable that will run towards the passenger side, will be mounted on the firewall. I'd rather use screws but will see how these hold up Screwdriver 8mm socket: for battery hold down and to move coolant reservoir tank 10mm socket for battery terminal 11mm socket for the ground on the frame small zip ties Pictures: 5500k 50w bulbs. There's a slight incline where the gravel meets the road. image looks pretty close to what it actual looked like. Nothing behind that plastic piece so it was a good place to attach the relay box and ballast. Power is attached directly to the battery, the cable is hidden by the red plastic cover. Driver side This cable powers the passenger side ballast. I used plastic mounting pads hopefully the adhesive lasts if not will have to use screws to hold the cable in place. Same cable keep going... Hooray, we made it to the passenger side. The cable barely made it there, had me worried. Summary: After 30 minutes of night time driving I think the 50w HID ballast is a tad too bright and should have opted for the 35w ballast. The projectors' cutoff is excellent and I don't think I'll be blinding drivers.
  10. The Retrofit Source send me 2 new cables under warranty and I was able to finish the install. I'll post pics of amp/capacitor location and wire routing tomorrow when there's daylight. These things are super awesome. I hope they aren't too bright
  11. Bahhhh spent 3 hours troubleshooting the Morimoto kit only to find out that the wire that connects the HID bulb to to the AMP(Igniter?) is messed up Grrr..... Here's the one with the working cable, super bright Oh yeah the Anti-Flicker Capcitor Link isn't needed, just use the relays.
  12. Yeah get the 2.7, I got the 3.5 because..... I don't know why...
  13.
