Sometimes when I approach the vehicle with the key fob in my pocket it'll auto unlock the door but then other times I have to press the unlock button on the key fob. I've been looking in the manual to see under what conditions it automatically unlocks the door and can't find anything. Anyone have any additional information about this?
Edit: Looks like I sort of found the information I was looking for, page 62
Activating Intelligent Access (If Equipped)
You must have the intelligent access key within 3.3 ft (1 m) of your vehicle.
At a Door
Pull an exterior door handle to unlock and open the door. Make sure not to touch the lock sensor area on the front of the handle.
Touch the top of the door handle to lock your vehicle. There will be a brief delay before you can unlock your vehicle again.
Note: Keep the door handle clean to make sure the system operates correctly. -
Fuel Tank (front wheel drive): 18.4 gal
Fuel Tank (all wheel drive): 18.5 gal
I have the 3.5 and average 21mpg so that's about ~378 miles per tank but I never let it get less than 1/4 tank. Oh well, it's better than my Dodge that gets 11mpg :D

No it doesn't autolock when you exit the vehicle. You can lock it by touching the top of the door handle (see picture in first post), with the key fob or (what I do) just press the lock button on the inside of the car
