  1. Here is the latest to my drama, I get a call from the dealership they want me to bring the car in next wed for a field engineer to come out and do the repairs. THEY NEVER CALLED ME TO FIND OUT WHEN IS A GOOD TIME FOR ME TO BRING IT. I asked to speak to the tech before it was scheduled so that I know what they plan on doing as a repair this time rather then just installing another faulty part. The answer is they are going to just install an EXTRA seal to fix it. Has anyone had this done yet, if so has it worked? From what Ive read hear nothing has resolved this issue to date.
  2. Had my PTU swapped for the 4 time last friday.. less then 500 miles and its smoking again... I am really considering Lemon Law. In CT its 4 attempts or 30 days out of service. I wouldnt go this route if i knew there was a fix coming, however i am starting to loose confidence in that it will
  3. my dealer says say, in fact they had a flex on the lift with the same problem. In total they have had about 6 different cars come in with this problem
  4. The service manager at my dealership says its in the fusion, focus, flex edge and Taurus x
  5. Well let me add to the rant... I have 2 x 2008 edges each have the burning smell. On one of them less then 9k miles and the PTU has been replaced 2 times the seals 2 times still have the burning smell. The second car 11k on it and its had the seals done 2x and still have the burning smell. Does anyone know what the lemon laws are in CT and has anyone actually collected from a Lemon law for this issue?
  6. i Own 2 edges.. I have the burning smell on both of them. One of the cars is going in for its 2nd attempted to repair and the other will be its first. I am hoping they can resolve it once and for all

  10. I am starting to have this problem now as well. I noticed it only seems to do it when the car has sat overnight.
  11. Well heres a little update... The dealer evidently ordered the WRONG unit. There evidently 2 different Nav systems out there, Both look the same. However only one of them suports the premium speakers aka the sub in the back. The unit they put in didnt support those. Well this is the story we were told anyway. The truck should be done and being delievered back to us this sometime today.
  12. I had the dealer do a locate and he said he couldnt find one in the state with the options that we wanted.. All we basically wanted was the Blazing copper, with the leather seats and nav. I asked about getting one ordered from the factory and I was told the factories are winding down for the 08's and getting ready to retool for the new 09 line. Again I dont know how much was a snowjob from the dealer not wanting to put the leg work in. I have been to several sites though looking to see if I could find a model in the area that had what were looking for and I really wasnt finding much in the way of the orange with the limited package. My gf is a DYE HEART orange lover and she would not settle for any other color, and for the money shouldnt have to.
  13. After several weeks of seaching my dealer was not able locate a car in the color that we wanted with a factory Nav installed. They were able to find a Limited with everything I wanted minus that. They told me they would get that car and install the Nav unit themselves. It took 3 days for them to actually get the head unit in. Today they went to install it and they ran into complications. Infact they said they tried 2 head units and both of them failed to work properly. I am getting a little nervous about having them do the work now. What are the odds of 2 units being bad stright from the factory. Am I over worrying, is there more going on then the dealer is telling me, or should this be an easy install. Each time the dealer tells me it should only take an hour.. Well after 8 hours I still dont have my truck with the nav.
