  1. I guess Ford got smart with the later versions. Hope the factory ones you order work. Foreign car manufacturers have been doing this for years. Post a pic when you can. Good luck!
  2. I am the proud owner of a 2008 Ford Edge Limited. I take very good care of my car as my Ford dealer service manager will attest. I want to keep the car looking good all the time. When I first bought it I went ahead and purchase the factory add ons to protect the exterior of the car. I bought the hood deflector , rear bumper edge guard and mud flaps (they only sell ones for the front). First; I wanted flaps on all four wheels and second; I didnt want to drill holes into the fender lips to mount them. I have owned several foreign cars and had purchase mud guards for them. The foreign manufacturers did some planning and made it so you use the existing hole locations to mount the mud flaps. No drilling!!!. So in order to mount the flaps I made a tracing the shape of a left and right flap. I removed the screws that hold the inner fender well in place. I positioned the tracing where I wanted to located the flap and maked the exisitng holes on the tracing. I transfered the holes to the flaps and using the exising screws attached the flap at each wheel. It took a littel time but the results where worth it. I havent seen any Ford Edges around me with mud flaps on. I think in part because it is not an easy add on. Who wants to drill holes into their $30K vehicle. Anyone else tried this?
  3. I have had a car mask on a previous car I owned and to be honest it can be a hassle sometimes. If it is not tight it flaps; you do have to remove it to clean the car and I dont' think it complements the car. I have seen advertised a clear sheet material that is cut to fit your particular vehicle and is virtually invisible. When I had my 08 windows tinted, the shop showed me this product. I have to find out the name again. You can have any portion of your car covered with this material and they say it will protect from bugs/chips/ and even slight scuffs. I
  4. I have a set of WeatherTech on my 08 Ford Edge. Installation is not that hard. Just take your time and be carefull the first time you put the windows up to make sure they seat properly. They look good on the car. I didnt like the exterior version as it coveres the door frame paint and it looks like an add on. Also bought them for my wifes 2004 TSX. It is a quality product. PS: The only thing I did was to remove the "WeatherTech" decals. Use a little auto adhesive remover. Good luck!!
  5. I have an 08 Limited and the car is great except the wheels like yours. I have the 18" and the wheel edge has started to pit on all four. I had one replaced under warranty ( No questions asked!). The other three fell outside the warranty period. Ford was only willing to pay 25% the dealer was willing to kick in another 25% but that left me with a $400 plus bill. I didnty bother. I expect I will get a set of aftermarket in the future. I have had many alloy wheels on my cars and never had a problem with them. I think Ford knows it. I bet they get rid of them in the near future.
