  1. So i was able to get my hands on an oem manual with wiring diagrams , the 4 footwell ambient “white” lights actually have a different output on the hvac module. The doors each have 3 separate ambient lights that share the same output as the centre counsel. These still work as mentioned above. I’ve tried an hvac module reset with no luck or changes checked out the harness which checked out good with a multi meter. It’s hard to believe that the hvac module is not electrically protected against shorts, does this sound like something that could be fixed with a calibration update. And when the manual mentions a new module will need to be reprogrammed is this just uploading the As-Built ..?
  2. I’ve got a 2011 MKX that had a flickering white ambient (under dash light) on the driver side, all colours worked in all locations. when you would either set the ambient lights to white or just open the door at night the driver side white ambient would come and go and flicker no issues with any other colours I looked into purchasing the replacement Led and the driver side was a complete harness that went up the dash to the left of the steering column across to the other side and would have been a rear treat to change. So I decided to purchase the passenger side ambient jumper harness ( led with a few inches of wire and a plug) so I disconnected the battery cut out the driver side ambient installed the oem mating plug and terminals and reinstalled. Everything would have worked correctly but I mixed 2 of the 5 wires up all the colours worked but the driver side did not match the remaining of the MKX ambient lighting. I unplugged the plug, depinned the new vehicle side harness not thinking that the battery was still connected I shorted the harness out to the steel under the dash. I’ve got the ambient lighting working (no blown fuses) I do have a minor issue, I can’t get the 4 footwell lights to light up white. Not when I open the door, not when I select white On sync screen , all the other white lights work- door pockets, inner door handle, cup holders . All interior lights work , puddle lamps, vanity lamps etc in fact can’t see anything else out of place. I hooked up ForScan and this is what I have it looks like ambient lighting is part of the hvac module. I did do a module self check and erased the code as well. But the code keeps coming back and the white lights at your feet won’t work . All other colours work and no issues remembering preset colours after key off . Any help would be appreciated. just to recap I have pulled fuses, checked fuses, disconnected the battery, hvac module on demand self check , cleared codes. thanks Justin
  3. I know this is an old thread, I just tried this as I have the same issue as the original poster, my struts are smooth, but not strong the hatch is just balanced. I know the struts are different from power vs no power gate. Are you able to confirm. I can literally balance the lid with 2 fingers anywhere in the open position
  4. Just wanted to comment I just went through the exact same issue. I purchased moog problem solver ball joints, I thought I was the only person who had this problem , glad I’m not the only one. I did leave a detailed review on Amazon about the issue with pictures. I used the same mind set as you pertaining to the originals not having the snap ring. I’ve put on about 5000km of normal driving and no issues
  5. I’m wondering if anyone has any info on swapping out the seat frame for a Ford Edge or Lincoln MKX ? Just recently picked up a 2011 MKX and the driver seat pivot pins / rivets are worn allowing quite a bit of play in the seat that can be felt with braking and accelerating I’m having a hard time locating a good complete seat so my plan is to swap just the track, the oem number is BT4Z-7861711-D these tracks were used on a few model years of MKX and Edge thanks
  6. just wanted to say Thanks to everyone above .... you guys saved me a ton of time and money looking after this myself. I recently purchased a 2011 MKX and the symptoms were exactly the same (2 of the 3 indicator lights) and the same burnt pin.
