Got a new SEL FWD EDGE October of 2015. Thought maybe it was just me and the touchy brakes on a new car but feel you need a HANS device or be sure to keep your head near the head rest particularly in stop and go traffic. Hardly feel any back pressure against the foot, so to speak, in the first part of the brake pedal travel. It take a very light touch. It appears from other responses that this is a common problem/complaint. Mine was built in February/March of 2015. Wonder if later built models have the same problem and what about those of you driving the 2016. Any braking complaints?

Thanks for your reply. Hood no problem since my post. Decided the hood release was stuck due to disuse. It was built in March 2015 and had been sitting in dealer stock and I doubt anyone ever popped the hood since the dealer did a factory delivery. Still sprayed on a little WD-40.

Popped the hood and found that the safety catch would not move the hook to fully release the hood. The yellow release lever would move to the left and could also be pushed down but no release. Finally closed the hood and popped again and had the same results but then finally worked after several tries. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have this problem? Thinking of dropping by a dealer to see if they have had a service bulletin etc. on this problem.

Downsized from two cars to one. Got rid of 2007 Cadillac SRX trading 2008 Escape in on 2015 Edge in October. Look forward to the Edge Forum. Have found auto forums an excellent source for advice as well as discussion of owner problems, concerns, and suggestions for improvement. Just hope Ford is listening.
