I had a chance to take a look at this. It was mainly the housing. I was able to remove the mirror, disassemble the mirror and found the bevel retaining screw base to be broken. I was able to secure it and piece everything back together (except a small missing piece from the bottom near the puddle lamp). Let's hope this saves me the $300 to $400 for the assembly.

Greetings, Recently, while backing the Edge into the garage, the missus damaged the passenger's side mirror. The mirror twisted forward but did not break off. I have yet to see the vehicle as it is out of town with her on a trip. I know there is damage to the body color-matched painted cover and presume there is damage to the "knuckle" or pivot point for the mirror. I do not believe the glass is damaged. I am looking for input on possible repair of the mirror, or if it will likely have to be replaced. If it is replaced, I am interested in hearing options on mirrors. What other body style mirrors will fit the Edge (Mustang, Fusion, Explorer)? I wish these were auto-dimming mirrors. Is that option available as OEM or aftermarket? Is it something that I can replace just the mirror glass with the special auto-dimming feature? 2013 Edge SEL. Power Mirrors. Color-matched front caps in White Platinum Tri-Coat Metallic.

Greetings, I know its been documented before, but thought I would share my DIY Homelink installation in my new to me, 2013 Edge. I already had the Homelink module that I purchased from eBay. I had bought it for another vehicle but never got around to installing it before I traded it for the Edge. I used a previously written DIY here on the forum and, one from the Ford Escape forum as guides for the installation. First I removed the trim around the drivers sunvisor mount. This is pressure fit around the top of the mount and requires an outward motion to free the trim. After removing the trim, remove the two T-15 Torx screws that hold the sunvisor. Next - Loosen the A-pillar trim by pulling inwards to free the clip. Loosen the headliner around the drivers door by genly pulling down on the weather stripping and working the headliner out. The vanity mirror power connection is located just aft of the headliner / A-pillar joint. You need to gain access to the small green connector. The green connector is tacked to the headliner with an adhesive. A little gentle work by hand or small tooling will free it from its grip. The green connector has a locking tab - don't just try to pull the connector apart. My vanity mirror simply snapped off. I used a wide-blade screwdriver to open the end of the sunvisor to gain access to the sunvisor covering. The covering is held into place by plastic teeth from each side of the sunvisor housing. Seperate the housing and gently work out the sunvisor covering. Pull the covering back enough to gain access to the location where the Homelink is installed. I used a razor knife to cut the sunvisor housing. Dont cut it too wide - cut along the thin section of material around the "plug" for the Homelink. I removed the cover and button assembly (flexible rubber) from the Homelink. I plugged in the power and ground wires into the white power connector. This was simply a matter of pushing the wires into the plug. The plug has metal tabs much like a wire tap to add a wire to an existing circuit. I fit the Homelink into the opening, leaving the small tabs on top of the sunvisor housing. Reinstall the sunvisor covering. I used a soldering iron to make the holes for the three buttons and, the indicator light. I then laid in the button assembly and pressed the cover onto the Homelink. Reinstall the sunvisor. Don't forget to hook up the green power connector. Test - Program and, Enjoy.

Well done. Thanks for the information and links. I've had a Homelink in the garage for a previous vehicle but will now install in the Edge. I installed Homelink in my 2000 Vette. I'm thinking the Edge installation will be easier.
