  1. Has anyone removed the rear EcoBoost emblem yet from their Edge?

If so, was it stuck on with an adhesive backing or mounted through the body with prongs?

Agreed, heat gun and fishing wire or dental floss

I am going to replace it with a twin turbo badge, pretty sure its just tape

    Please don't

  2. In terms of H11 bulbs the tops one appear to be:

    PIAA Extreme White 1851 lumens

OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited H11 1350 lumens

    GE nighthawks 1345 lumens

    Silver star Ultra 1700 lumens

    Philips Xtreme Power

    Philips Vision

The only issue you will have with any brighter bulb is the life is going to be reduced and sometimes greatly because it "burns" at a higher temperature

The other option which you may find a similar issue is the LED path... https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-headlight-bulbs-conversion-kits/led-headlight-kit-h11-led-headlight-bulbs-conversion-kit-with-built-in-fan/2115/4803/

  3. Maybe I am not following correctly, but the only issues seems to be coming from leaving the lights in auto mode? Does this issues go away if you leave the lights off and only turn them on when you need them? Or does it need this juice at all times as it doesn't have enough to begin with?

Does the harness go from the battery to the switch then to the lights?

  4. My Edge Sport manufactured on September 15th doesn't have the problem. I've had it for 60ish days and use the seats at least 4 days of the week. More if my wife is turning them on when shes driving alone.

Mine was manufactured in September 15' also and the backs do not cool at all. The bottom gets somewhat cool.

  5. Most of the problems I had with my Edge is because of the dealership's fault. I guess Ford or the dealership should spend more time in training their staff in terms of repairing and taking care of the car but given that the 2015 Edge is in its first year, I guess it is understandable.

While most of the features that Ford has in their vehicles are not that "polished", i.e. MyFordTouch (laggy), it still holds the edge it terms of its "richness" and implementation, i.e. Lane Keeping Assist (sensitivity can be customized), Multi-function Instrument Panel (feature-rich), Sync 3 (intuitive), and the blind spot monitor (no beeps/sound)

The only issues with the sync in the 2015 we've had was the issue before the update with the iPhone crashing it. So far so good and I can't really say I've noticed much of a lag. The lights in the mirror are plenty enough for us in terms of blind spot warning. I know they flash if you put the blinker on while someone is there. I guess for added security they could have added an audible warning but I'm fine. I don't need them as I have my mirrors positioned such that my blind spot is extremely small but my wife likes to see a small part of the car in the mirror which leaves a large blind spot and she swears by them.... So for her maybe it would be nice.

  6. Ok. I've been coming to this forum since March of 2015. It seems to me that Ford

is having a ton of issues with the product that we purchased from them, in my case a 2015 Sport.

I'm losing patients and confidence with my dealer and the factory pertaining to all of our issues with this vehicle.

I will NOT be purchasing another Ford product. What say you?

NEVER IN MY LIFE WILL I EVERY BUY A FORD PRODUCT AGAIN! The car has been in the shop for 3 weeks over the past 3 months we have owned the car (We only just made the 2nd payment). Our only hope is Ford buying the car back once it has been in the shop for 30 days in the first year of ownership. At this rate we'll have that done by May.....

I was seriously considering the SHO as my next car but after this forget about it!

  7. Yeah some Ford folks look over the forums...

Do we have a car without problems?... Well no offense but we would all love to live in your fantasy world. Even the best of the best of some issues nothing is perfect. The earlier one had a well documented water leak into the cabin. Some are experiencing transmission shifting funny and the engin stalling. Most problems I hear and have experience have been fit and finish but it all depends on the model version you have.

  8. My Mustang had quiet brakes from the factory. When they were ready for replacement, i picked up new rotors (Centric) and OEM pads. I had some squealing issues so I swapped the pads for Hawk and the squealing went away.

I also had Hawk pads on my previous car. They were great and never made a noise - I also used grease behind the pad

  9. I can manually recreate this myself while washing my car though it generally evaporates as quickly as made it happen too

This was after a trip and not after a wash. I've seen the rears do this after a wash but never the front.

The troubling aspect for me is that the condensate will at some point leave accumulating "water spots" (from dissolved road dust and / or hard water) that will be impossible to remove.

I agree with this....From my previous thoughts when I would see condensation on headlights or taillights it meant they were cheap or old. I hope this doesn't lead to buildup on the inside.

  10. Has anyone experienced this? I have the sport with the projector headlights. We got home this afternoon and after we pulled into the garage I noteiced the buildup in the front headlights. It is not a lot but it was enough to be noticeable. I assume I will probably get the same response from ford as we did for the taillights - condensation can happen as long as it is not large droplets they won't do anything as they are not sealed..

  11. Going back to Jetta made in Mexico? :)

Yup, you are exactly right! It doesn't always matter where it is built... a lot more goes into it then that, the design is equally important. Even though the edge was built in a new/newly refurbished manufacturing plant in Oakville (where I was born) does not mean it will be amazing. As we all know the first production series had a serious design flaw with the leaking.

  12. I had a 2013 Hyundia Santa Fe sport 2.0t (First year) and i have the complete opposite opinion. I think the Ford Edge Sport is superior in every aspect compared to the Santa Fe build i had.

Coming from a German car where over the past number of years have typically had much better interiors in terms of deisgn and quality I have not been impressed. No offense to anyone here who had previous Hyundais or Kias but they have not been known for their build quality or fit and finish. Yes they have come a long way from where they were but that is why there is a decent price difference in the cars. Comparing to the Germans on fit and finish/quality I will most likely go back for my next car purchase.

  13. It's certainly not right but unfortunately that's par for the course for a brand new model. Ford's initial quality on brand new models has been terrible the last few years. I attributed it to trying to make too many changes at the same time (new platforms, new drivetrains, new suppliers, new features) and was hoping it would get better but that hasn't been the case yet.

That's why I'm waiting a few months for the 2016s hoping they get all these issues worked out.

Some of that is on the dealer though - they don't have those same excuses for the car being dirty.

I agree I am dissapointed with both for their reasons. Peolpe wise has been a decent experieince. Only a hand full of times did they not call me back the days they told me they would... Nice people though.

  14. We got our 15' Edge Sport from JC Lewis in Savannah also.... The dealership and purchasing experience was good. We had Rodney and he was very helpful, kind and let us do the decision making - He did not try to force anything on us. They were great help and had to source the vehicle from a nother dealership as the specific options we chose they did not have. Once we got it we noticed a couple of things. The following is partially a reflection of the JC Lewis Ford dealership but more on Ford as a company...

The biggest issue I had was they gave us a car with a partially dirty/damanged interior. This is our FIRST ford and truthfully we were not impressed (especially my wife). There were black hand and finger prints all over the sun visors. Also there was a sizable gash in the front part of the dash. On a brand new car this was extremely dissapointing. In addition, the first day we had the car we were testing out the Ford Sync system and it kept crashing on us. There was an update that had been out for about a month before and the dealership never updated the car before they gave it to us. I was not going to waste my time taking it the 45 min to the dealership so I did it myself. The entire point is, it is a new car (our first Ford) and I would expect everything to be up to date and clean, it was not.

In their defence they did take care of us and we eventually had it replaced (they had the car for a week...) When we went to go and pick up the car they again gave us a dirty car...The service rep did tell us it was dirty and they never cleaned it. They said friday was their busy day. I called twice to get updates and told it was ready at 4:30. I did not get there to pick it up until 5:30 which was plenty of time to clean the car. The car is garaged kept at home and it was very clean when I took it in. When we got it back, the car was dirty and clearly it had been sitting outside for the past week. In addition, AGAIN there were black grease finger prints on the headliner and sunglass holder... Not to mention we asked the service rep about some other fit and finish questions we had asking if this was normal. Long story short, no they were not normal. We have overspray drips on almost every single panel.

Other issues with the car - the driver carpet was coming off and falling down by the OBDII port whic was a very serious hazard for the driver. The headliner needs to be replaced (ford's decision) as they cannot repair it because it is pulling out by the sunglass holder. There is a bubble in the steering wheel covering. One of the wheels was not painted/finished correctly and there is bare metal showing around one of the center caps. The trim finishing was not consistently applied to the car some panels are flush and some have large gaps like they have shown on here (in the ford edge sport section under review you car).

Mechanically the car seems to be fine which is important to me but the fit and finish has left A LOT to be desired about which is most important to me wife. At the beginning of this process I was truly considering an SHO for my car when I replace it in a couple of years but after all of these issues with the fit and finish, I am seriosuly reconsidering that thought. I think I will go back to the germans where I came from.

  15. Hey Gang! I just purchased my Edge on Dec. 8th. Noticed the condensation as soon as I got it home. Guessing the wash job the dealer did might have caused it. Then it has disappeared and reappeared daily since then. I'm glad I found this forum with similar issues. I'll be contacting my dealer services department for a replacement ASAP. I'll let everyone know how it goes!

Good luck mine basically said suck it up. Personally I think it looks really bad and reflects on shotty craftsmanship/part... which so far sadly has been the name of the game for my 2015 edge sport...
