  1. Are there any part numbers to these or TSB numbers? I definitely have seen this any time it rains the lower door panels are always completely coated. We live in South Georgia so no snow or ice and the car only has 25,000 miles (2015). I already see rust on the fold lines/weld lines on the door from this. Never mind... some searching I found this: TSB: 18-2339: TSB
  2. I have seen a couple around I believe but they’ve all been rather expensive around $1,000 which right now is not worth it.
  3. We have a 2015 and really it was all cosmetic things that were taken care of under warranty. We purchased ours in late October after the water intrusion was fixed. We also had the brake booster replaced under warranty (under the TSB) for sensitivity. No mechanical issues to speak of plenty happy. Wish we had sync 3 is all which came in 2016 and newer.
  4. I have a question about the oil report if anyone has seen a similar trendS with the newer 2.7 shearing the oil or if Mact you have any thoughts.. I changed the oil last time about 1,000 miles past when the on life oil monitor said to change it. Both the first and second (nearly third as well) had the oil sheared to a what would be a lower viscosity oil. This most recent time I changed it right at the indicated time and it was barely on the edge. All three oil samples were done with the exact same oil. Thoughts? Thank you.
  5. It depends on what year as some early one issue (leaking and very sensitive brakes) were (mostly) fixed after year 1 as an example.
  6. We get 21/24 average depending. 21 if it’s mostly rural/city and 24 if it’s mostly highway. 93 octane only since new. The pictures attached are both from Fulley fuel tracker.
  7. Wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on this. Did Ford change the pan material?
  8. Last year I replaced the plastic valve cover on my 2002 Nissan for the first time. Yes, the gasket was hard as a rock but it lasted 16 years so no reason it cannot work just different steps Ford would have to take to ensure reliability vs going the cheap route and doing just enough in their mind to get by. Our 15’ Edge sport is about 19,000 miles now and luckily, *knock-on-wood we haven’t seen this issue yet but I am watching it like a hawk. Are there any stats on how many are affected? Is is a small percentage (under 10%) or is it an overwhelming fleet issue?
  9. Update - The new brake booster definitely makes a difference in the short drive I had. Although it wasn't completely cold, I could tell right away that the initial bit of travel was very soft compared to when I dropped it off. It's my wife's car so the test will be when she drives it later.
  10. Got a call from the dealer last evening. They are ordering the updated break booster for our 2015 edge sport. Hopefully it helps with the binary brake feel.
  11. This might be it: 2015 Ford Edge Equipment Service Bulletin 448044
  12. Correct, they do not have one for the 2.7L twin turbo EB motor.... For Ford 2015 Edge 2.7L V6 TurboUnfortunately, this Edge uses a plastic proprietary plug. Better luck next time.
  13. I wanted to see what folks here do... I made a pole to help keep track of their thoughts so please fill it in and if you have additional comments of course they are welcome. I have always replaced the (in my previous vehicles) the copper crush washer every single oil change but I can only find the plastic drain plug and o-ring and not just the o-ring. Granted I think its maybe $10 for it but I was under the assumption that even the dealer doesnt change out the plug. Personally, Ive done three oil changes (17,000 miles now) and have yet to swap the plug (never leaked) but am thinking about doing it for #4...
  14. It's the Wife's car. Her trips include runs to the grocery store in town (10 miles round trip) once a week, then to the supermarket (30 miles round trip) call it once a week but may be slightly less. Then a 500 mile round trip maybe once every 3 month or so.... It is less than an ideal mix of driving so I'll keep it a little shorter on the intervals.
  15. Initially would be a good thought however, I changed the oil and I used the exact same oil this time as I did previous and have the receipts from it as well. In addition, it appears to be relatively consistent with the previous analysis as well which was the same oil.
  16. Pirelli Scorpion verde (Optional 21")? or the (I believe) Hancock?
  17. I was wondering if anyone else has seen their engines shear the oil down to a relatively thin viscosity? Blackstone commented that the viscosity is lower then expected for 5W/30 and some engines have a natural tendency to shear the oil with use. I have attached the oil sample report and was curious if others have seen this trend? Other then that with ~17,000 miles I think it's looking pretty good. 15 EDGE-1809016.pdf
  18. Very good advice in this thread. I've looked at HID installations in my other vehicle (non-projector). I have attached an image to help those that may not completely understand the terminology/headlight design. http://www.oznium.com/images/projector_headlight_explain.jpg Projectors may accommodate standard halogen lights, HID (Hight intensity Distcharge), or LEDs. However, the new for explorers come standard with LEDs and if you notice their reflector housing (if you look closely) is vastly different than it say those in the previous generation expedition. LED lights typically cannot "throw" light as far as HIDs or higher quality halogens. This means further down the road will be darker but the light immediately in front of the car will be bright. This is fixed with HIDs but you will give all of the oncoming traffic horrible glare and essentially blind oncoming traffic which does no one any good. That is why to do this properly either by a new headlight set with projectors or retrofit projectors into your head lights by opening them up. In short, the quickest and cheapest is a high performance set of halogen bulbs ($40 ish). Next would probably be a toss up between a retrofit (buy from retrofit source) and maybe a set of Chinese headlights from eBay. I would not install LEDs or HIDs in the stock housing.
  19. Thank you for the link. I thought it was rather odd that pretty much right at 5,000 miles the warning went off. The majority of the trips are on the shorter side, 10-15 min one direction with a couple of longer ones scattered in infrequently and then an odd (3 times a year) 250 mile trip. From the video I would guess the shorter trips apply more here than anything. Thank you again.
  20. Our warning just went off 3% and we're just under 5,000 miles. Ours appears to be triggered by mileage more than anything... 2015 Sport, 2.7EB
  21. I have a 2015 edge sport and the first thing we did we get the OEM Ford mud flaps for the vehicle. No they are not a perfect fit, I had to trim on set the rears (I believe it was to better contour the body kit) but once I did, they fit just fine. I would have it no other way! What a huge difference of pickup on the car. I think the rears fit better then the fronts.
  22. I haven't had those specific issues but the quality of the fit and finish on our has been awful. Been in the shop 3 times for over $4,000 in warranty work to get most of it fixed. Luckily we got ours after the leaks got fixed. Condensation in all of the exterior lights. This is our first new car and first Ford. We don't plan on going back. Sadly mechanically it has been awesome and the power is pretty addicting.
