  1. Angela,I had the exact same issue, at over 50 the noise went away. I had my in and out of the dealer for 5 months, last time for 3 weeks, it is a '15 and within 2 weeks after purchase it made the noise. Mine needed spot welding in the "a" pillar (where the pillar meets the roof). The noise was a spot the size of a flat toothpick that was not welded, so the paint was rubbing together when cold. When over 50 the metal expanded enough not to make the noise. My best advise is to be persistent with your dealer and contact Ford or BBB to resolve the issue. This is what I did and so far so good, no noise. I do sometimes have another noise, which is an actual magnet out of place, as the magnet can be moved and the noise stops. But your issue sounds exactly like my struggle. If there is anything I can help you with let me know, as I know the frustration with this issue.
  2. DougS- are you still experiencing the "jingling" noise? I received mine back and there still seems to be a noise. Not as loud, yet still there, especially on bumpy roads, as you mentioned. Doesn't sound like the same noise, but from the same area. The dealer did take the headliner down and put back, thinking is was the magnets, did stop for a day, but back again.
  3. Sorry to hear that DougS. Got my Edge back last night, did not hear the noise last night. Yet this morning, hear a plastic type noise over bumps over my head. I think I will wait a couple days and see if it continues, then will be back to the dealer.
  4. Still waiting to get my Edge back. Been at the dealer for 2 weeks. As soon as I get it back, I will post what was done and any other information that I have. My dealer did recommend JB weld, but Ford would not allow that to be done, as they said it was not an authorized repair. Can't say why, just they would not do it. So all dealer was able to do is spot weld. But again, will let you know when I receive back and have a confirmed resolution.
  5. My dealer is telling me (which came directly from Ford). The welding between the frame of the car and the vista roof has several (cannot remember how many) spots that come together. In those there are gaps, which is creating a noise when the painted welds are rubbing together, most prominent in the cold or early morning. In order to correct, spot welding needs to be done. Thats all that Ford will allow.
  6. What color is your Edge? Is it a sport model or different model?
  7. I took mine back in yesterday. Last repair was tightened some bolts; which did not take care of the issue. This repair, they are saying the vista roof bracket appears to be causing the noise. As when the bracket is touched, the noise stopped. Inquired with them if there is a weld crack, as my scenario appears to be the same as others. They said it is painted, so cannot tell. I am not sure if they are understanding me or I am not explaining it properly. Anxiously awaiting your fix DougS, as mine appears to be incredibly similar.
  8. I wish I was a wealthy as Nick, as I believe $50K is a lot of money. Of which I paid for my Edge as well. My Edge is about 3 months old and has been in the dealer over a dozen days in the past 3 months, with an incredibly loud and annoying noise near the drivers side head; which is making driving it very unsafe, as its incredibly distracting. My old 07 Dodge doesn't make any of that noise. I think that is what remsleep is saying that buying a new car for $50K, you expect new. And the comment about English is unnecessary.
  9. Thanks Doug S. Seems as your and dennisml had a similar fix. Wonder if your fixe will fix mine. I am just so mad at the dealer and Ford that I can't take it anymore.
  10. I can tell you theagnets don't seem to be the issue. Dealership removed the headliner and drivers side curtain airbag and noise still appears. Dealer doesn't have a clue.
  11. I have contacted Ford customer service and service manager Tyisha, took my complaint. She was not helpful at all. Simply telling me it is my problem as I have not taken it in or given them enough time. Anyone getting anywhere with their problems. I guess I should have listened to those that say FORD stands for fix or repair daily.
  12. dennisml and Doug S. I know this is a bizarre question. But can you share if this took care of the problem and if so, can you share the dealership name? I have been struggling with this for 4 months. My dealer had the car for 2 weeks and still can't fix it. I have resorted to contacting the BBB for a complaint, have notified Ford that I will pursue the lemon law in my state.
  13. After nearly 2 weeks at the dealer. This is the noise that returned within a day. Is this the same noise others are experiencing? Over drivers side head.
  14. Update: got my 15 Edge sport with vista roof back yesterday. Dealer had it for nearly 2 weeks. They tightened brackets behind the drivers side curtain airbag and vista roof. Did not make the noise when I picked it up, was about 30° outside. Today, about 10° outside, noise reappeared. Seems to be even louder and more pronounced. Seems to be the cold weather. Is that was others are experiencing?
