Well, how'd it go ?

I have a 2015 Edge SEL with the Default Chome Grill. I wish it were black. What are my options ? I have seen the parts available for the pre 2015 Edges that can be painted and installed - are these same grill inserts available for 2015/2016? Has anyone had their chrome grill painted for the 2015/2016 Model ? Thanks, Ed

Yes, but not many of us can afford the Sport or Titanium Trim so we were wondering how to get the LED Tailgate bar installed on the SE or SEL Trim Levels.

I am not mechanically inclined enough to volunteer to take my hatch apart but I am sure interested in knowing how this swap can be done - it must be possible and I need it now !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Official Update from Ford - Via a work order placed by the Dealership is that there are no current methods/kits available to perform this installation of the Tailgate Lightbar that currently exists on the Titanium and Sport Trims onto the SEL or SE Trim Levels. Even if a lightbar from a Titanium Trim model Edge was placed on the SEL it would not work without programming the cars computer components to enable it to work. It did not sound like Ford had an interest in releasing a conversion kit. I am very surprised by this - almost any feature/pkg not available a specific trim level on any car can be ordered/installed after the car is purchased....except for this option. I feel robbed !

Hi - I have sent an email directlry to Ford asking how to move forward with this. I am also waiting for a callback from the Parts Manager where I bought the car (just 2 weeks ago). I will let you know what I find out. I am leaning towards the thought that the SE and SEL Trims are not even wired for the light bar to work....

Hi - Does anyone have any knowledge concerning enabling/swapping/wiring the LED Tailight Bar? I bought a 2015 SEL and want the tail light bar to light up. That is what attracted me to the Edge when I saw it at night and I feel like I got scammed that mine does not light up. Can a Dealership swap the bar out ? Thanks, Ed
