So was pokoing through summits catalog online and saw this system it says it fits AWD models, but from what i`ve read here earlier they don`t fit AWDs? does anybody know for sure? thanks

can`t say i have towed anything yet with our edge, it has the tow package, BUT a great feature that it has is an O/D lock out, i have used it and by turning the overdrive off and applying the brake the trans downshifts, and according to how hard you depress the pedal it will downshift even further helping to slow the vehicle, it is an excelent working device and i could see it being very beneficial when pulling a trailer! I WISH my pickup acted in this maner when towing!

so first three tanks done, 1st tank i calculated 19.3 mpg, second 22.9 mpg, and third at 20.3 mpg, *(note all readings are based on imperial gallons)* first tank was all city, second and third was all hiway, think what you may, i`m happy considering the 01 taurus we traded in got 20 mpg if i babied it on the hiway and let everybody wave (or finger) and pass us, considering it had an 3.0l V6 and this is a 3.6l, and the obvious extra weight of the edge, its better, and myself and the wife love it, it fits us and our uses perfect!

so we got 550km or about 343mi on the first tank, my wife filled and didn`t keep the receipt so i dunno how much went in tank, but it says its a 72litre tank, so *calculating* um 18.1 MPG *IMPERIAL* (calculated at full 72l which it probly didn`t take) so we might be 19 or 20 on first tank cause there was probly some gas left, we`ll see though after a few tanks, which might take a month, doesn`t get alot of driving(:

aHH I SEE :yup: SO 17.5MPG city and 25.8 MPG hyway, never crossed my mind on the us to imperial thing...

Yup got an AWD limited, its got everything on it, going to get some chrome stuff for it like bug deflector, ventshades, all in time though... i really liked the black edge but the wifes had a black car for 8 years so she wanted a change, the vapour silver is awsome, doesn`t show much dust on it!

Welcome to the forum, admit i`m kinda new too, but i with you on the gm to ford conversion, was eying an acadia and was just waiting for 0% financing and it never happened, so my wife made me look at the edge, one drive and i was sold, plus the limited we got, cost as much as the entry level AWD we were looking at anyways!!! been very happy, had it two weeks now and lovin it!! Jeez i didn`t know jeeps financing was so high!! thats why there prices are so much lower! oh-well, its just a jeep. what colour did you get? got pics?

I would love to here a sound clip if you get it done!, i have an AWD model and haven`t found any "kits" available, We`ve only had our edge a week so havn`t looked under it to see what can be done. *And i agree about the sounds of the 4 and 6 bangers, sounds rediculous, V8 rumble is like a shot of adrealine, if done right!* I would do it for the fuel economy, havn`t finished our first tank so can`t scratch any numbers yet, power gain would be alright, i think these little units go pretty good anyways, maybe one day i take it for a rip with the accelerometer and post some numbers! haha

i think i`m gonna get it i like to be unique, i also like how it also has inserts for the upper and lower part of the bumper, besides i strangley think the factory grille is an eysoar, call me weird i guess, evrybody else i know likes it...

we wanted to get the 20 inch chromers changed/swapped on the lot but the dealer wouldn`t *give* anything for a deal, i said these are a 800 dollar option i want the grey ones and *some* of that money back, nope they would swap them for free, no deal, so i have hugh freaking chrome wheels, if anybody comes up to me and wants to swap i may consider it. they grey ones look better, dunno why, more sporty or aggressive or something! (: ohhh well. chromes might go good with the chrome billit grille i`m gonna order up!

the route were going is puting money down and going 0%APR for 60 mo, finacing through ford credit. the 42, 900 is final after all the dumb fees (which they are grouping together nowadays, calling it registration fees, was 400 bucks), and 20 bucks tire tax. I just read line for line everyones experiences and as i understand i`m doing alright, i`m happy with it, our montly cost is 560mo, and i`ll own it in 60mo, so i`m breathing a little easier, its good to learn that the dealer make money from the "holdback" cause otherwise i can`t understand how they stay in business, everybody needs to make a buck right? waiting, should only be a couple more days!! getting exited.
