  1. I know there is a lot of discussion on this. However, there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. I have tried every thing I could find. (Reset SYNC, test SD card, checked wiring). I am reluctant to spend $150 from Ford unless there is some confirmation that this will solve the issue. If I buy one and the problem persists will the dealer do something about it.
  2. Tried that once before. Never had any chirping and nothing changes.
  3. Why would autolock be a safety feature. Also where is the TOOLBOX.
  4. Perhaps we are talking about two different Autolocks. I am referring to the locking that happens when you drive off and reach 12mph. According to the manual this cannot be disabled via any interface. Must be reprogrammed.
  5. I did RTFM. Says that disabling Autolocks must be done by the dealer. As far as the unlocking the manual is not very clear. I am an engineer and have a lot of experience with user interfaces. So far Ford's implementation of IA is very convoluted. Other vehicles that use IA are so much simpler. What is the point of the IA FOB if I still need to touch something in order for it to work. I've been in rental cars that have this feature and works as I would expect. I would not recommend any one purchase a Ford with the IA feature. Doesn't really add any value. The car itself is fine.
  6. New 205 EDGE. Trying to make some things work. 1 - Tried to disable AUTOLOCK. Followed procedures found on internet. Alas nothing works. 2 - I was told by the dealer that the car will unlock or lock automatically as soon as FOB is in/out of range. Doesn't work. Have to always use FOB or lock prior to closing doors. This defeats the purpose of IA. 3 - Placing hand in lock activates lock, but doesn't operate consistently. Some time it locks, sometime it unlocks. Any ideas/suggestions are very welcomed.
  7. 2015 SEL. I have tried to no avail to set up the locks to activate automatically when walking away from the car. Appears the only way to lock the doors is with the key fob. Considering all the features on this car I don't know why this won't work. BTW, the owners manual is practically useless. BY far the worst I've ever encountered. Any help will be appreciated.
  8. If there are enough items in the 401A pkg to your liking then go ahead. If it is only for HID, then it may not be worth it.
  9. Those are exactly the points I was referring to. This crap of certain packages is absurd. I have had many BMW's and every single one I Have configures exactly how I wanted. Whatever it is about FORD's projector beams they simply are not well designed.
  10. Two different technologies. Projector uses a dedicated lens to disperse the light that is produced by halogen bulb. HID (high intensity discharge) uses XENON gas to produce a much brighter and whiter light. Unfortunately the projectors on the FORDS are not very good. I've had cars as far back as 1995 that much better light distribution. These throw light all over the place and way to high on low beam.
  11. My wife purchased it. At $38k it's not cheap. These items should be standard for that price. Don' even see the HID as an option.
  12. My wife just brought home a 2015 EDGE sel. Good price (I think). However, discovered that it doesn't have HID headlights, a garage door opener or even remote lift gate in the cabin. Jeez, cars $10,000 less have these features standard. The projector lights are quite bad. I had projector lights in 1995 and were better than these. The rest of the car is OK.
  13. So all you did is replace the bulbs. You did not actually install an HID system.
