  1. does anyone know what the key fob battery number is on the 2016 Edge---my wife's fob on it died and I got the dealer to replace the little circular battery--but I forgot to ask him what the # was
  2. thanks---here's another question having to do with Valet Parking--We will be visiting a city soon where the hotel uses Valet Parking most of the time Suppose we put the fob in the drink section between the front seats and then turn the car off and get out without locking it -the valet gets in and drives the car into the garage and then has to move the car several times in the garage because of a larger number of cars-- but suppose one of the valets a few hours later opens the car, moves it 20 ft and then exits it and by mistake presses on the front drivers side door indent part mistakenly locking the car with the fob inside ?? does our opening the window before the valet drives it into the garage improve the situation?--could the 2nd valet reach in the front side window and open the locked door?
  3. I have a 2016 V6 Edge SEL----I gather I need 5W20 oil------should the new oil from say Mr Lube be 'synthetic'? going there tomorrow for oil change have 10K on the odometer
  4. Parking Brake on 2016 Edge---when I press it on by pressing down the brake goes on----If we then get out of the car and then return and turn the car back on, does the pkg light go back off if we first put the car in either Drive or Reverse while on a hill??
  5. I found that but the DTE picture is smaller and fatter than it was before less than half the height----can you stretch the DTE to elongate it?
  6. How do I get the Total Fuel # back on?-----IT used to be on the left alongside the fuel guage needle---when it was full it would read about 625 for eg--now there is no number , just an rpm reading----what button do I press and where in order to get the 625 etc back? (the 625 drops as you use gas)
  7. a bit tedious to do---as i recal you need to insert it and then twist it a bit so it stays in place-----Service guy did it and said not to lose this little black rubber encapsulated gizmo as that is the thing that enables the 'push in and open' feature work
  8. Our 2016 SEL came with 18" regular all season Michelin tires and we may buy winter tires this Fall----Any ideas of the best winter Tire for this car?---eg Michelin Defender? we live in Oakville and my other car-buick enclave doesn't use winter tires past 10 yrs 2nd question--we have FWD and may only buy 2 winter tires and put them on the back-----must we have 4?
  9. Service Dept guy clued me in--have to have rubber encapsulated screw attached properly to enable push door in to work---He attached it more securely than I had--then took it off and closed door and showed me that a simple business card inserted wud still open the door even though push in wouldn't work--then he re-attached the gizmo more securely that I had so fall off should not recur if nozzel hit it on extraction
  10. We bought a Ruby Red 2016 Edge SEL fwd v6 on April 1 via a factory order that was delivered in March in Burlington Ont---In our 2nd gas fillup the petrocan nozzel knocked off the small rubber encapsulated 1-2" screw that had been attached and the rubber thingy fell to the ground---I picked it up and affixed it back on just like it was when we first drove away from the dealership--the thing points down towards the tank Which begs the question----what if the same thing happens again on a future fillup and the encapsulated little screw gets lost on the ground----will we be able to close the lid and then a few days later open the lid again by pressing in?--or might we be screwed seems like a flimsy little thing that could easily fall off when removing nozzel and a huge outcry from Edge owners around the world of one cud no longer press in to open the lid ---ie haven't heard anything about this so maybe I'm over reacting??---any ideas?
  11. the little rubber encapsulated screw needed to be re-inserted going IN towards the tank, not OUT from the tip where I had guessed--I saw that upon going to a Ford dealership early this morning and opening the caps on 2 new Edges----So I re-inserted mine as appropriate and it kept pointing up as the dealership Edges were----BUT--my question remains---the next time I fill up and extricate the nozzle and it happens to brush against that little rubber encapsulated screw and knock it loose--easy to do--and the thing falls on the ground and is lost---will we be able to still close the door and the press in on it to re open it ???
  12. I just bought this car last week---At the gas station I opened the gas hood by pressing in on it and it opened--fine--after filling, I then was about to close the lid but a small little black coil fell out on the ground, which I picked up and re inserted in where I thought it must have come from and only then closed the lid---but my wife thinks the little black coil doesn't belong there and thought we should throw it away and then close the lid and then try and reopen again by pressing in---I'm concerned that if we did that the lid might not re open ! My wife doubts that would happen---Any ideas?
