  1. Well that didn't do it. Still not always coming on when it should. If I wiggle the pigtail a little at the fan they will come on. Does anybody know if I can get a replacement wiring harness for the 3.5 on a 2012 Edge? Thanks!
  2. I unplugged the controller harness and top fan harness , shot some contact cleaner on connections and both fans are now working as they should. Hope this helps and keeps somebody from replacing cooling fan assembly. ?
  3. A/C cools nice while car is moving (87 here in Orlando) if I stop and idle for a few minutes ac compressor turns off. Car started overheating today while in a car wash line. I let it cool down for about 10 minutes and the coolant temp went back to normal. Drove it home with no stopping and it did fine. I swapped the cooing fan relay with an identical one we never use(Rear window defroster LOL) Anyway neither cooling fan comes on at all. Do I need to replace the whole cooling fan unit or is there something else to test that might isolate the problem? Thanks!
  4. Oh Yeah, issue resolved. And got to say this is truly a GREAT board! I go on other boards for many DIY and other stuff, and this board does truly get to the point to help troubleshoot the problem and resolve it. Thank you folks!
  5. Thanks. That thread says it all. I cant figure out what all these tell me though. Not sure which one to look for.. Mine is a 2012 Edge SLE...I think LOL manual tilt column. Is the "speed sensitive....intermittent...variable speed? 17A553 (SW-6963) Window Wiper Switch With Manual Tilt/Slide Stg Column ; Speed Sensitive Windscreen Wipers; Black Vehicle Build Date before: 5/31/2013 17A553 (SW-6964) Window Wiper Switch With Manual Tilt/Slide Stg Column ; Rain Sensitive Windshield Wipers; Black or With Power Tilt/Telescopic Strg Column 17A553 (SW-7037) Window Wiper Switch With Manual Tilt/Slide Stg Column ; Speed Sensitive Windscreen Wipers; Black Vehicle Build Date after: 6/1/2013
  6. Like the title says ...the wipers turned to "Off" will stay on most of the time. If we wiggle, turn to high and the off or sometimes hit the washer button and then off it will turn of, but getting worse. I'm pretty sure it's a contact in the control. Anybody have a clue as to what to do? Thanks
  7. Passenger mirror collided with a gas station pole. The housing is fine and not broken or scratched even. The glass and some of behind the glass is broken/missing. It is heated and with memory model. Have been looking for a How To Replace video but havent seen one. Need someone with replacing mirror assembly to help. Thanks!
  8. The purge valve was the issue. Very easy to change and only cost $31. You guys are GREAT Thank you!
  9. Does anybody know where the purge valve is on the 2012 Edge? I've been searching but can't pin it down. Searching the internet that is....the Edge is not here yet. Ok, nevermind found a good video showing just where it is.
  10. Im looking into the purge canister now. Would a bad valve cause the engine to shut off?
  11. Good point Omar302...The oil thing may not be the cause. I'm starting to wonder about a fuel filter. She ran it a couple of blocks at lunch time and it died. started it and made it back to work. She let it idle about 10 minutes and no problem. Any thoughts anybody?
  12. Something else that may or may not be related is that lately when we ill the gas tank it can start and be rough and die..or we kill it and start again with no problem. It has only happened when we start it after filling the tank......?
  13. Ok...I did do 10W30 and the book recommends 5W20. Would that cause the symptoms I described, and would it be ok to drive it 20 miles to get it home?
  14. I did do 10W30. Yes did let it rest for 15 minutes before checking.
  15. Ok...fellow at work checked oil level and thought it may be 1/2 qt low. Wife said the car would shake like it needed a tune-up and then cut off. and it had the 'Low Oil Pressure' msg. Anybody seen this before? And is the system designed to automatically shut off with the "Low Oil Pressure" msg?
  16. 2012 Edge w/ 3.5L engine. Changed the oil and drove it a couple of miles yesterday the checked fill level and it was fine. I checked the driveway this morning and there was no oil at all under where the car was parked. My wife was driving to work this morning and after about 15 miles she has told me the "check oil" message is coming on and the Edge kept cutting off. She will have a friend at work check the oil and I will put the results on here, but I'm wondering what else I need to look at.
  17. Yep, that was it. I put the new one in today and all is well. The guide said it all and was easy to do. Thanks all!
  18. Yep....seems the general consensus is that's where the problem lies. In the controller and fan unit. Thanks.
  19. Akirby, the 'one fan running' is on the working vehicle......the problem Edge has no fans running.
  20. I'm trying to determine if the problem may come before the fan and controller kit....? I thought there may be a relay that goes to the 'Controller and Fan' ?
  21. Ok... I see... I have a fully working 2012 Edge here now and only one fan comes on with the A/C turned on High with temp at normal level. Is there a way to isolate and troubleshoot the problem?
