  1. 2011 Ford Edge FWD -Limited 130K Miles started last week i had received this code with and Engine light on. i had a bad battery that caused alot of codes to come out. Change the battery and reset it. the only thing that appears now is the P0420 and the p0430. what i understand it can be a bad Catalytic Converter or bad oxygen sensors. was wondering how i can pinpoint that problem and what i need to buy and replace. I do have forscan to use. just not sure what to look for. any help is appreciated it.
  2. Just wanted to give update on the noise coming from brake caliper. its almost a month later and no noise and parking brake now engages properly. So it was the nipple on the brake pads not properly seated that caused all those issues.
  3. This just happen on my 2011 Ford Edge Limited. Same leak area, took to the dealer. they did the dye in the transmission ruled out the transmission and was the rear main seal. Total cost to replace seal 1600.00 . luckily my warranty had 1000 miles left and a month, so only paying 100 deductible. is it normal for this seal to go bad. car barely reached 100,000.00
  4. Macbwt, Thanks for info. I took the brakes apart and inspected more carefully. i have notice on the brake pad nipples had some discoloration on it and notice the same thing on the caliper plunger. it looks like the nipple was hitting the side of the caliper plunger. I adjusted it plunger and reinstalled the brake pads and so far, no noise. I will continue to monitor it and see if the noise returns and hopefully that was the problem. thanks again for the help.
  5. I have a 2011 ford edge 3.5 fwd. We recently replaced the brakes front and rear pads. Ever since then a noise started appearing every time the car would sit over night and used the next morning on first take off. Noise is brief and then goes away for the rest of the day. I believe it has to do with the brakes .however took them apart and check everything seems to be ok. I have attached a video of the noise. Has someone experience the same noise before? https://youtu.be/zLC823jtx7M Also is best to mention that the e brakes is not working when engaged. We can see the cable being engaged but car still moves with ebrake still on.
  6. Sorry , didn't respond early. but yes i work on all my trucks for now on. way cheaper to do and experience to learn on your own is priceless. also i am a current subscriber to your channel. they have been very helpful ! i watch it all the time. keep them coming.!
  7. Thanks, wlepse, I would order the camera online, i have seen it also and good thing i use forscan for my ford vehicles. thanks again.
  8. my 2011 ford edge is having the same issue. was wondering if you have solved it. I have tried pulling fuse and resetting the sync system however no fix yet. was leaning towards the camera needed to replace. please let me know if you resolved your issue and what it was. thanks in advance.
  9. this is a follow up post. took the vehicle to the ford dealer and had them look at the problem. they concluded that the banjo bolt was leaking and they supposedly found a leak at the power steering reservoir and return hose. with parts and labor i was looking into a $600 fix. according to what i have found on the internet is that the banjo bolt are leaking due to the bolt not torque tight enough. they have already updated the torque setting on the installation paper that comes with the new banjo bolt. My Extended warranty only covered the engine and transmission so i was S.O.L. however i chose to make the fix myself, so i went ahead and had them order the parts and went home. took a look at the power steering reservoir and return hose and could not see any leak from under the hood. so i waited to get parts and jack the vehicle up to make sure. got the parts it was around $113 with all parts. the Banjo part was about $12.90. Power Steering Reservoir $67.90 and Return hose $32.93. Once the parts came in I jacked up the vehicle and see the banjo bolt on the steering gear leaking. unbolted and put new one on . torque it to the proper torquing specs. clean all the power steering fluid off the surrounding area. then look underneath at the return hose and power steering reservoir ... NO LEAK., Dry all around the area. So now i know for a fact the dealership was up-selling me on service and parts that was not required. this was only a $12.90 part fix. and they wanted to get $600 for the job. Now im going to call them up and have them take back these parts that i clearly didn't need.
  10. Wlepse - thank's for sharing your story. At the time I jack the ford edge I really wasnt thinking at the time and didn't follow the hoses. Tomorrow I have time to jack it up and check again to check the lines and the bolt area. I was trying to fine the same part and could not find a motorcraft part for it. I seen other aftermarket parts for the filter. Another problem I was glad to hear, I'm also hearing the same clunk noise too. So hopefully both issue can be fixed. The vechicle has an extended warranty we bought not sure if it would cover it. Need to look into it tomorrow as well. Thanks for info and I will post the outcome as well.
  11. i have a 2011 ford edge that is leaking oil from behind the engine and away from it. i had to jack up the ford edge in order to get access from where it is leaking. it almost looks like a filter of some sort. connect to two hoses. i have took pictures of it. hopefully someone can tell me what it is. thanks in advance
