  1. HI ALL I JUST PICKED UP A NEW EDGE TODAY HERE IN SOUTH JERSEY I HAD A 2004 VUE WHEN I FIRST SEEN THE EDGE I THOUGHT IT WAS A HOT LOOKING NEW SUV AND NOW I OWN ONE SO IL BE UPDATING AS I ADD ON AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THE SUV IM GLADE THIS FORUM IS HERE

Welcome! I'm next door in Delaware. Actually heading to Jersey tomorrow (Wildwood) for a long weekend. I plan on opening up the roof and the windows and enjoying this beautiful weather!

  2. Okay, I'm not exactly sure where I need to post this reponse but I'll try here......I responded to this same "problem" a while back and I don't believe I received a response.

Fifth Ford I have the exact same door issue. It appears from your pictures that you have a redfire which is what mine is as well. I talked to my boyfriend about it (he is a Ford Senior Master Technician) and he didn't have an issue with it. He also isn't paying for it  .....but I generally believe what he says about my vehicles. I would love to hear what your technician says about yours. It definitely does not have a finished appearance. My issue now is that I have added the body side molding so if the doors needed to be replaced, I'm out the money for the molding.

  3. Actually that post time is wrong - I was on at 730 am... not 430.. Took my Edge for its first oil change first thing in the am.

Im 6000Kms (3600 miles) - all is good...

Nothing like some good espresso.. and good meal - im off to europe in 2 weeks.. can't wait

    Edgy,

We continue to be in this together.....had my oil changed on Thursday 3400 miles......all is good here as well. :shift:

  4. I have seen how the Lexus has the running boards from the factory and it looks pretty sharp. Has anyone heard anything on aftermarket ones for the Edge ?

Personally, I don't think the Edge has enough height to need running boards. My Expeditition had to have them but my kids have an Explorer and they are just kind of annoying.....you didn't really need them but they are there so you feel like you should use them. Just my .02..... :shades:

  5. I'm here and most definitely female! I just haven't had much to say lately, but I still check the forum several times a week. Hey, Edgy, maybe you could pick up Bobbyz.......

DJ Starr - good memory, but didn't you forget Sweetie????

  6. Sure wish Ford would add bright red to the Edge line-up!

What is Redfire Metallic if not bright red? My boss has an old Mitsubishi 3000 GT that is "bright red",unfortunately for him next to my beautiful Edge it looks orange.....is that what you're looking for? I'll take the Redfire any day!

  7. The one concern I have is the Edge is larger and different to drive than a car like the Accord. I am concerned that I will not get used to the different feel of the Edge and end up being disappointed. Has anyone had simlar feelings when making their decsion.

    Thanks for your help.

    Dave,

I had a Nissan Altima prior to buying my Expedition and several Nissan (Datsuns) prior to that. When I told my boyfriend I wanted to get the Expedition he said, "you don't want something that big". He was SO wrong. I got in my Expedition and never looked back. You will quickly get the feel for driving an Edge...go for it! :yup: Although, I miss my Expedition, my Edge is quickly making me forget my big truck.

    Sue

  8. I had a 1999 Expedition that I absolutely loved. I loved the height and the feeling of being in control of the road. I purchased the truck when my kids were young and I needed it to cart around them and their friends without having to take two vehicles. I hated to get rid of it, but with both kids older and driving themselves around I didn't need that big of a vehicle. So I started looking and man did I look. I drove myself and everyone around me nuts. Everything I drove just didn't fit all my needs.....so my boyfriend told me I should look at the Edge. The BAMR sold it for me. I am a sunroof person. I have the windows and roof open as much as possible and love the wind blowing through my hair. The controls on the steering wheel was another desire and the Edge had it. I like the dual heat/ac. I like the look of the dash. The safety reports were also a huge selling point. I love that I am up high, not quite as high as before, but not sitting of the road either. I also love that the Edge, like my Expedition, is roomy, nothing feels close or uncomfortable.

My only issue with my Edge is like others the head rests. I like to have my seat back straight up and this is not very comfortable with the headrest. I have found that if I notch the seat one notch back it still is straight enough with pushing into the back of my head.

Overall I think that it is a great vehicle and I love the attention it gets. I also like this forum. I have never been involved in something like the forum but I'm still addicted to it. I may not be looking every day now but it is several days a week. I enjoy "talking" with everyone and I'm glad I joined!

  9. Well Sue... Delaware is a heck of lot closer to Myrtle than I am - the place we stayed was very affordable...I can always email you the details - even if its just a weekend getaway...

    Take care

This is very true. We do have a boat, so our free time (when there is any) is spent there....even if it's just to run down to a local restaurant on the canal.

What I'm hoping for......My man, who is a Senior Master Technician for Ford, may qualify for a trip to Cancun if the dealership keeps their "Fix It Right The First Time" percentage above 77%. Currently, he is at 100%, so if he can hold it above 77% through the end of August we are Cancun bound! :happy feet:

  10. Hey Sue... yep.. it was a long drive... but cheaper than flying.

We were looking for a short vacation and a good beach. Got a name from friends who had been in Myrtle Beach and loved it. Never been before.. only to St. Pete's Beaches in Florida.

We loved it.. great outdoor set up.. right on the beachfront... I love the ocean...

So it all worked out... great time.. would return in a heartbeat

Glad you had a good time. I on the other hand have absolutely no plans for the summer. How depressing......

  11. Thanks Guys!!!

I did miss my Edge.. my bro did allow me the use of his garage for the week.. so it was well sheltered. Damn.. I did miss driving it... Felt good to be back home and in my car.

As for work.. ahhhhhhh ya know.... its all there when you come back.

Drove alittle thru the SC state roads to get to MB - lots of towns with great fruits and veggies ... we couldn't bring it back since it is not allowed at the border crossing.. Looked good !!

Got to admit.. the cost of living is higher in the US than here.. amazed that at the grocery store, stuff is as expensive or more expensive than Ontario.

Gas is a little cheaper.. and your beer is SUPER CHEAP.... we can pay up to $40Cdn for a case of 24.

    There.. $12 US... NUTS...

Yep that's us gas and cheap beer!!

Glad you enjoyed the states....heck of a long drive though. What made you pick South Carolina?

  12. That's why you need to be careful. He might just give you the D plan price but then add on doc fees and/or keep rebates. I didn't think dealership employees could give out D plan pins to non family members.

They cannot give them out to non-family members. I am living proof.......my boyfriend is a Ford Tech but since we are not married (only living together for the last 13 years.....) I couldn't get D plan. They were able to get me an X-plan price which was several hundred more than the D plan. Guess I should have gotten married instead of living in sin!

  13. Looks like my demographic of married with kids in the 30-40 group is pretty common for an Edge owner.

I have gotten so many parking lot questions form people, both younger and quiet alot older than me. The last guys was in his upper seventies and looking to trade in his 2 year old Crown Victoria!

I too have gotten a lot of parking lot questions. I can't think of any vehicle that I've owned that prompts perfect strangers to come and ask me about it. My last guy was driving a Honda, so maybe were attracting the attention of the foreign car buyers. Hopefully Ford can pull over many many more buyers.

  14. No. 149 here. Being a Ford OAC worker I was here mostly between Dec. 06 and Feb.07 just to get info on production and gauge interest in our new product. Since everything seems to be very positive (and believe me,we do appreciate the compliments and feedback) I've mostly just been lurking.

Well there are many happy Edge owners here, I for one am! I've said it before, but thank you OAC and to all that have pride in what they do. For me, it shows! :happy feet:
